Ok, that hurts.. to lose the Bledisloe for another year is not a pleasant feeling. This post is purely my reactions from been at the game, we’ll have some proper analysis later in the week.
Cowan was extremely lucky not to get a yellow right before half time, apparently Kaplin had his hand in the pocket but McCaw talked him out of sending him.
Brown’s transgression a few minutes later at the beginning of the second half, to my mate Rhys’ eyes, didn’t seem any worse. To be honest I didn’t even notice he was gone, the first I knew about it was the announcement that he’d returned to the field!
My impression was Genia took some very ordinary options, Barnes was our best performer in the first half so WTF was he subbed at half time? Giteau went missing in another big game, and Baxter was subbed early, which was probably deserved as we’d lost a few of our own scrums.
WTF is with ‘too low’ at engagement? Shouldn’t the ref tell them to come up a bit higher at the pause?
Anyway, Well played to the Kiwi’s, a solid performance and a few dissallowed tries.. they played well and deserved the win. Would love to hear others thoughts.
Final thought: Wallabies now have the only 2 bonus points in this years 3N. If we can beat the Saffas next week and win in choice bro, the Tri Nations is ours.
