    Western Force 2011

OConnor is an incumbent Wallaby. Shepherd, if fit, would have had a shot at the squad then who knows. Cummins was in the Wallaby squad last year until he ws injured. He isnt good enough to be a starting Wallaby but he is at least pushing for the extended squad. Inman I believe will have a real...

Shortlist announced for IRB Player of Year

Exactly. Pocock showed against France he could provide good go forward. He has more strings to his bow than just fetching.

Shortlist announced for IRB Player of Year

I think its interesting that the general consensus is that McCaw is a good ball carrier and all round player. If you watch Pocock, he provides a hell of a lot of go forward with ball in hand. That is something the Wallabies are missing. When Pocock gets the ball, it normally takes 2 or 3...

    The "Finds" of Wallaby EOYT

I think McCalman will come on to be a genuine challenger for the 8 jersey against Palu. He isnt at Palu's level yet but I can see him getting there. I would really like to see him at 8 next year, as a Force fan, for two reasons. First of all, he offers the larger running flanker as opposed to...

    Super Rugby 2011 Débutante Ball

Force: Rory Sidey: He has already been capped by the Tahs, but only has 4 caps so I am counting him as a debutante. Will offer cover for the centres, and I would suggest he would look for a bench spot, or could even make a play for starting at 12, depending on how Graham wants to proceed. Paul...

Top 10 Scrummaging Nations in the World

Sorry Blue, was colouring my memories from last year. Steenkamp has been huge this year I will admit. Probably havent seen enough saffer games to really get my head around where they are at.

Top 10 Scrummaging Nations in the World

It got shoved around by both tri nations opponents last year. The boks scrum was nothing to write home about. There was (is) a hooker at 3, who is apparently too important to be dropped and when Beast was there, he was very good in the loose but wasnt setting the world alight in the scrum.

Top 10 Scrummaging Nations in the World

And after the 3N, I think we are pretty even with the saffers. Its just that we have the bad reputation. They still have a reputation of being decent scrummagers. But I dont think they are any better than us.

ARU forms new Australian Super Club and Pacific Nations rugby tournament

TOCC, good to see you are making freinds over at TWF And I have calmed down a little from my initial outrage, to be sitting in the quietly pissed off area now. In regards to having to extend the season and have the other teams fly to perth, all good points. But for starters, if this is an...

ARU forms new Australian Super Club and Pacific Nations rugby tournament

The only issue TOCC is that the 4 (soon to be 5) franchises are businesses. They need to be treated equally by the ARU. I agree that there will need to be sacrifices made for any provincial comp in Australia, but once again, the franchises need to be treated equally. En force er, I also...

ARU forms new Australian Super Club and Pacific Nations rugby tournament

WJ, I am not privvy to the information regarding having a team relocate to NSW for the ARC, or being completely self sufficient as part of the WF bid, but the ARC team relocating to NSW really negates a lot of the benefit that the comp would have added to WA rugby. The main purpose of the team...

    Wallabies 1-8, 16-19

When does Alexanders contract with the Brumbies expire? If they continue to play him at 1 then he may well move franchises for a better opportunity. It will cost him by staying and playing 1 if it means he loses his starting spot in the Wallabies to Slipper or Weeks. What have the...

ARU forms new Australian Super Club and Pacific Nations rugby tournament

You are taking the piss right? How would a team from Perth located in Sydney help perth rugby (at the cost to Rugby WA?) And last time I checked, RugbyWA is self sustainable. And they get far less from the ARU than the other states (not complaining about this, there are more players in NSW than...
