    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

Televised club footy would be enormous but a private sponsor would be needed for that. Not to the point but has the Premier Comp got a new sponsor in light of Australian Airlines going bust?

    Pacific Rugby Cup

Got to the Qld v Fiji game late so only really took in the second half. What struck me the most about this Qld A side was how young they were. Five of them from my count were at school last year! Tell you what though they don't lose anything in size comparison, a couple of them are monsters...

Graham Henry: "That little prick [Quade] Cooper helped us.''

Henry deserves to be pissed off but he should hardly be surprised in this day and age of social media and 'headline at all costs' journalism. Bloody disappointing that the 'what goes on tour stays on tour' ethos seems to have disappeared. Storm in a teacup though. Most people would take his...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

I'm assuming that all the guys that went around for Qld A at Ballymore yesterday will also be featuring in the local comp this year. Excellent stuff, as there will be a lot of good young talent on display. I saw six or seven Easts Tigers out there, which bodes well for the clubs chances this year.

    Blues v Crusaders Round 1 (2012)

This was definitely the game of the round. Both teams should feature strongly at the end of the season but I do think the Blues let one get away.

    Waratahs vs Reds - Round 1 - 2012R01

I don't understand the criticism of Higgers? Very strong in the lineout and contributed well in general play. Not bad for his first game in...how long? His passion on the field is a real plus for the Reds...I thought LG summed it up pretty well in his post.

    Brumbies 2012

He's playing at fullback for Qld A against Fiji today. Hopefully will get out to the game.

    Waratahs vs Reds - Round 1 - 2012R01

Lots of good even handed post match commentary and have to especially applaud Barbarian's blog comments. Bloody relieved as a Reds supporter. For whatever reason the Tah's never let the Reds play anywhere near the rugby they are capable of, and it was the same last night. Gutsy effort by an...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

A good number of the players mentioned in T12's post above will be on show at Ballymore at 6.00 this afternoon against Fiji A. Worth a peek if you're not doing anything.

Well done to Cottrell, hope he fires when given the opportunity to get on the field. Great to see a bloke who didn't go through the recognised pathways getting a dig.

It's Goodbye for the Fainga'a Twins

The Reds are a good tight bunch who all do the PR stuff very well. Hard to find a bighead amongst them. Great reflection on management and the leadership team, as well as the boys themselves.

    Waratahs vs Reds - Round 1 - 2012R01

Two words for the Reds - Banana skin!! Reds would now have to be favourites given all the Tah's wounded, and if they manage a win you will never hear the end of it. On selections, disappointing to see that Quirk is not in the Reds 22. Hopefully Higgers, Van and Samo have enough gas in them...

Am I reading the team lists right, Michalak at half for the Sharks? Has he played there before?

It's Goodbye for the Fainga'a Twins

Whether they are worth the ARU topup or not, the general consensus seems to be that the Fainga'a brothers have been worth their weight in gold to the Reds. I would strongly agree with this based on how I have seen them interact with the general public. They seem like genuinely decent young men...

    Waratahs vs Reds - Round 1 - 2012R01

Hard to believe that Barnes would be considered if he wasn't 100%, after all it is only the first game of the season.

    Brumbies V Force Round 1 - 2012R01

Robbie Coleman definitely has some x factor from what I've seen of his play. IIRC he scored a very sharp try on debut, was it against the Hurricanes? He looks to be quick and a very balanced runner, and if he can get space chiming in from fullback then he may surprise. Aside from that he appears...

    Blues v Crusaders Round 1 (2012)

Might have to revise this after looking at the Crusadrer's line up. Even without the two big guns they still look bloody awesome. Lots will depend on how Bleyendaal goes at 10 I guess.

    Western Force 2012

Have to agree, there seems to be a distinct lack of penetration in the midfield, and as well, a lack of experience in the halves. If however the halves can provide good ball for a flying Nalaga, then we might see things open up for the backs.

    Blues v Crusaders Round 1 (2012)

On paper the Blues should win this comfortably.

Would love to see Schatz start with Samo off the bench for impact. So forward bench might look like: Anae, Holmes, Van, Schatz and Gill?
