I lost count of the number of tries Easts scored in their trial against Norths but it was a massive scoreline in their favour. I think one of the Cox brothers went over for four himself. Easts have quite a young side with plenty of depth and they tried various combo's today with some glimpses...

Well done to the Brumbies on the bonus point win, but I thought they should have pumped a very ordinary Rebels side by a lot more. A hell of a lot changed for both teams in a week. I thought Kingi and Huxley were the best for the Rebels when they came on, and Gerard and Jones tried hard all...

Pretty sure I've seen the No. 12 against his name in some of the teamlists that have been posted involving Lane, but Reds are more than covered in that position, with Tapuai and Fainga'a as well as Harris.

People are getting ahead of themselves with young Sam Lane. His debut was memorable, he looks to have a well rounded game and a good temperament, and he definitely has potential to be around top class footy for a while. BUT.... at present he is behind the likes of Lucas and Harris, so really...

Agree with Tranquility....Schatz does a lot of the stuff that goes unnoticed, and does it well. He looked less than good in his last outing but that was more to do with a headknock I understand, and the reason that he had a rest last week.

Definitely will get down to Shaw Park for the Norths v Easts game. Suspect that both teams will be pretty much at full strength as a rehearsal for the season opener a week later.

Too true. We've sent some of our finest young forwards over in the last two or three years, only to have them schooled by hard heads from NZ. That is why the likes of Beauchamp, Stolberg, and anyone else who has had regular game tame in a Prems comp, should be given serious consideration.

Agree with you about Shipperley being one of the Reds best attackers but he is not a 15 and should not be considered there. Most of us have overlooked his shocking pass at the back the other night because passing and kicking skills aren't what make him a good player. As with Ioane, his best...

As I mentioned on the other thread I think Lucas is the key inclusion for the next game. He's a good defender, will kick intelligently and as he showed against the Sharks, can spark the backline attack.

This will be the game of the year so far and I'm backing the Crusaders to win a very physical clash. Hopefully they soften up the Stormers enough for the week after.

I can see the Rebels taking this game with Beale and OÇonnor the difference.

Early days yet but it will be good to see the return of the guys who are injured. Reds have to give some thoughts to bonus points as the ladder looks like it will continue to be crowded, and Lucas might be the best 10. option to get the backline attack going.
