    Rebels 2012

When you've got Cipriani taking a foreign marquee spot as a 10, and JOC (James O'Connor) being increasingly touted as a strong possibility, I think the guys age goes against him in this instance.

    Waratahs 2012

I've asked this question previously but can't recall an answer. What has happened to Zipper Taumopeau? I heard he was in the extended Tah's squad but haven't seen his name.

    Digby stays put.

That's honourable Ruggo, but not necessarily realistic. Most, if not all of us, would seriously question allegiance if the opportunity came to double income with another employer. You'd have to be mad not to.

    Making rugby No 1

Club goes from April through September. Why not have a Sevens comp that runs from October to March? Why do the two have to be mutually exclusive? Admittedly the summer months can be oppresively hot, but a sevens game only goes for 7 minutes a half. Good way for club players to keep fit in the...

    Digby stays put.

Good question....what latitude is there in OZ for third party deals and promises of secure ongoing employment? Would have had to be something going on to get anywhere near the dollars on offer from Japan. I've said it before, whilst loyalty is admirable, the shelf life of these guys is limited...

    Aussies abroad 2011-12

Good on him. Pity then if he is returning to league midway through 2012.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

I've seen mention of a few good Coast lads heading to GPS in 2012. They were a young side this year and look to have the makings of a very good side going forward. Anyone care to name a 'best' 15?

    IRB Sevens 2012

Australia beating NZ was an epic result, that happens very rarely. From the bits I saw Con Foley and Lewis Holland were quite impressive, and the young bloke McMahon, showed a lot of motor for a forward, with one cover defending tackle on the weekend. This form of the game is an excellent...

Wallabies vs Wales, Sunday Dec 4

Loved the emotion from Williams, pre and post game, and loved that he got the last try in his last game. Great to also see Ben Tapuai make his debut off the bench...gee he's come a long way in a year!

    Brumbies 2012

I went to the Reds trial game in Feb this year and can confirm it was pretty blood steamy! They do play in quarters though and are well looked after from a cooling and hydration perspective. I'ts brilliant that Cairns and Darwin get these games as there are a good number of passionate rugby...

    Brumbies 2012

I'm sure I'll be proven wrong but that roster is far too green to be a success in 2012. I'm tipping them to be competitive but ultimately, the lack of experience and depth will see them finish last in the OZ conference. Give them another year or two.

    Waratahs 2012

As much as it pains me to say it, the strongest Tah's lineup looks the strongest in the OZ conference. On paper anyway.....

    ATSI rugby team?

At the end of the day it comes down to personal choice and the environment that one lives in. IF AFL or league is the major sport in ones community, as it is in the NT and Qld, then young boys will gravitate in that direction. There are no economic or social barriers to participation in rugby in...

    ATSI rugby team?

Can't agree. There is a Lloyd McDermott team that participates in the 2nd tier National schools comp every year. That is exclusively aboriginal. What other sport does that?

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

Uni may well deserve to start 2012 as favourites then. I'll have a go at a possible strongest lineup: 1. Davis 2. Hansen 3. Sheperdson 4. Buchanan 5. Preocanin 6. McDuling 7. Wade 8. Favier 9. Thompson 10. Harris 11. Burns 12. Lance. 13. Foley 14.Mcqueen 15. Morahan. Pretty strong...

    Brumbies 2012

If Matt To'omua can establish himself in the run on side then he might be a captaincy option, as he showed good leadership qualities as a young bloke.

A question for followers of Uni - How many of the 2011 squad have moved on? I can think of Prior, Cox and Kuridrani...anyone else? Also - what has happened to David Byrnes? Very good winger a couple of seasons ago but seems to have faded from the scene.

    Waratahs 2012

Couple of those Kiwi sides look to me to be fairly deep with talent. I also think the Reds have pretty good depth for most positions except halfback, and five-eigth now Cooper is out. By the way, what is wrong with a bench that includes two Wallabies?
