    Shute Shield 2013

I agree, according to the ABC commentary last weekend he scored 20 tries in colts last year.

To quote that great orator Chris Handy: "they were raised when meat was cheap!"

    Shute Shield 2013

Interesting to see the battle of the front rows with the two monsters Wests have up front v Tilse and Ryan.

He could probably do a bit of coaching and handle the after game speeches and run the boat race also!

I just realised 18 year old David Horwitz is also a goal kicker so it might be him. He should be able to handle a bit more responsibility !!

Wonder who the goal kicker will be with no Browne and no Matehaere?

Interesting team change for the Wicks this weekend: Tom Connor selected at 12 instead of 7 !!! Anyone know if he has a history in the centres?

I don't believe he has the mobility and work rate of Ingram and Munro at this stage. I'd suggest he doesn't quite fit the all out attacking game plan but the size of the opposition pack may see him get a call up to 1sts.

I haven't seen much of them either. We'll need to wait and see whether any of their S15 players are released to play. Should be a very big test for the Wicks across all grades and colts if table positions are anything to go by.

And Horwitz handled the 10 jumper like a veteran on Saturday. I believe he played most of his junior rugby at 10 but it was his first game in that position in grade. He's a master of putting support players through gaps.

    Shute Shield 2013

I have mixed feelings about the noise created by the lower graders at WH home games. I'm all for the enthusiasm but it can be bloody annoying for the visiting spectators. Call me old fashioned but I still believe the crowd should be quiet for kicks at goal, line out throw ins, etc. (I'll...

    Shute Shield 2013

Thanks for that input! My memory suggest there were years in the past where the ABC coverage started 1-2 rounds into the comp so I would have thought the demands of the ABC could have been accommodated and still have had full home-and-away, remembering my original post that there are two split...

Good to see Gordon have lifted their game with the food options. Last time I was at Chatswood (2 years ago?) the sausage sandwiches were over priced and measley but great options this time: various excellent pies, hamburgers, etc. Well done guys!!!

Good report Sid, no doubt Gordon missed Gordon Broome at 7 (surely he couldn't play for anyone else with that first name!), he was probably the best on park v Easts last week in a losing team. Not sure I agree with your comment about the crowd size. I thought most of the supporters seemed to be...

Hepetema's been released from the Waratahs (I assume due to Foley's return) and is back at 13 for the Wicks with Ford moving back to the wing (hurray!) and Fryer back to seconds.

    Galloping Greens

He was named as a fresh reserve in 2nd grade a few weeks ago but didn't make an appearance so I can only assume he's had a set back in his recovery.

Suppose I deserved that! I usually drive to Chatswood but planned to leave the car at home and get the train to Allianz afterwards to avoid paying a weeks salary to park at Moore Park. Hopefully Mrs Coach will drive me and I'll be able to bum a lift to the Lions game.

MACCA, I agree about the forced changes , but big disruption to the combinations especially in the backline with everyone other than one winger and the half either new or playing in a different position to last game. I'll be very interested to see how Horwitz goes at 10; haven't seen him play...

The only downside is no bloody trains running to Chatswood on Saturday grrrrrrr!

Woops, just realised I was on the Colts thread...sorry, ignore previous post!
