    Colts 2013

I'd assume Uni will have a heavy representation (10 last weekend v Force) in the Tahs v Lions so they might be well down on strength, but haven't seen the Tahs team yet.

Heaps of changes to the team announced for this Saturday as a result of injuries, call up to the Waratahs (I assume) and Beale to the Wobblies: forwards Tristan Goodbody makes his run on debut to replace Aho in the front row Munro moves from 8 to lock to replace Vatadroka (to seconds) Connor...

Perfect choice then, knows nothing about rugby so she should fit right in!

    Shute Shield 2013

Great initiative Gibbo! Really looking forward to seeing the Colts in action -- a rare treat! Must be a challenge to get the 4s out of bed and warmed up for a 9am kick off though!

I have someone in mind who's shown she can readily identify misogynists and put them in their place very smartly. She's had some experience managing a large organisation of people with varying agendas and has shown herself able to withstand backbiting and continuous challenges to her position...

MACCA, Gordon certainly didn't look far off the pace against Easts on Saturday, especially in the first half. I think we need to wait to see what team the Wicks are able to come up with as there were a few injuries going into the Uni game and Hepetema and Aho may be required for the Waratahs again.

I'd have to vote for the calendar as the players could organise that themselves. I doubt the ARU, NSWRU or SRU (especially) could organise a chook raffle or lamington drive or, if they did, the price would be so high that most people couldn't afford to buy a ticket / lamington.

    Shute Shield 2013

Thanks for the explanation Belly. But I would have thought the objective in your second para could have been achieved without the July split round simply by playing one less round in Colts or reducing the Colts playoffs to 5 or 6 teams instead of 8.

    Shute Shield 2013

9 uni players in the run on Tah's team for Sunday's game v Force plus Talaki under consideration for the bench (Wallaby squad not available). Wow!

Terence Hepetema and Richard Aho under consideration for the Tahs bench v Force on Sunday. Congratulations both players for receiving the recognition!

    Shute Shield 2013

Given that the Lions Tour was known about before the season draw and I assume the decision to cancel the Sydney v Country game was also made a long time ago, why do we have this current split round and another split round in July (6/7 and 13/7)? Why aren't we playing a 20 round comp or even 22...

Thanks MACCA, that's about what I thought I saw as well. I thought a penalty try could only be awarded if the ref believe a try would probably have been scored if the illegality had not taken place. I can't see how the elbowing (regardless of who started it) or the subsequent head butt (which...

Uni certainly established their position in the pecking order on Saturday beating Randwick convincingly in all grades and colts (except a narrow one point loss in 4th grade). Well done Uni. I have to say the 4th grade game was one the most entertaining and best games I've seen all year. Both...

Could someone who had a better view of the Tom Bennett send off (2nd grade) and the lead up maul (clear head butt, no argument with the ref's decision) explain the penalty try decision? Didn't impact on the outcome of the match, but I'm puzzled by the decision. There appeared to be two...

Well said Pedro, I agree they're on the right track and we have to accept there'll be some speed bumps along the way but you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs (sorry about the multiple cliches!).

    Shute Shield 2013

Nah, just couldn't pick a winner!

    Shute Shield 2013

OK, I'll have a go as Tom W apparently knows what us punters want (to win and see less of him?): Randwick to compete well but just get beaten by Uni's superior set plays (sob!) Eastwood's loose forwards and outside backs to be too good and too fast for the Rats Two Blues to run up > 50 points...

    Shute Shield 2013

Yep Sid, that's my understanding as well, including the monies loaned from the trust fund established from the sale of the apartments build on top of the licenced club.
  19. the coach

    Shute Shield 2013

Galah, just to clarify my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong if someone knows better): (1) It's the licenced club not the football club which has financial problems, the football club has lent money to the licenced club (2) We are told that the coach told all the players at the beginning of...

    Shute Shield 2013

The 2 front rowers who moved from Penrith to Randwick (Asa and Aho) didn't move for financial reasons as no player at Randwick is being paid a cent this year -- so we are told.
