Stephen Hoiles is still hanging around at the Wicks. Looks fit enough to play, but I'm not sure he wants to risk the archillies again.

Just noticed the NSWRU website preview of round 9 has Beale in the Wicks starting line up at #15.

Agree Sid, us sideline experts never have to accept the consequences of our mistakes and we always have the advantage of being able to say "I would have done it differently" after we know the result! Kelly has been quoted a number of times as saying that he's not expecting short term results...

Is Ricky Dumigan the same guy who played at 9 for the Wicks? He was in the army (and a bugler) if I remember correctly.

I can only speculate that it's the "whole of club" approach referred to in earlier posts. I think the strategy is to play players at the highest level the coaching staff believe they can handle (without being too concerned about individual teams) in order to develop the players. Remember that...

Toby Browne is also back in firsts at FB. Beale coming off the bench apparently. Sid, I agree it will be an "interesting day" and I just wish I could somehow be at Uni and Coogee at the same time!

My comments about Jeffrey were not meant in any way as a criticism. He is what Rugby (esp club Rugby) is all about. I believe he received a gong in the New Years honours list a couple of years ago and well deserved. He certainly helped me out of an issue many years ago and I'm indebted to him...

The settlement of the sale was to be 12/4 and the lease back was for 6 months from then so should be still open until mid October.

Make the most of it Hugh, the club will be closing in a couple of months:(

Courtesy of G&GR newsletter today: "It is being reported that Kurtley Beale’s tumultuous stint with the Melbourne Rebels is coming to a close. After it was reported earlier this week that Beale would be returning to the game via club rugby with Randwick, it now appears that Beale will not be...

I'll try to work them out: James Willan Would only attract points if he played > 50% 1st grade colts games last year, discounted by years of service. Aust schoolboys only counts if it was last year or the year before and in Divn 1. Toyota Cup doesn't attract any points Tom Boidin He has to have...

I agree about Ford, my heart's in my mouth everytime he fields a kick. He takes too many poor options; better on the wing. Yep, Kurtley at FB works for me. That also gives him the latitude to come up to 10 in attack. Samu didn't look good as he limped off on Saturday and Parsons is also...

    Shute Shield 2013

Don't believe so. If the player is a fresh reserve he should have a "Y" in the right hand column and his points should be added to the total for the team. If he doesn't have a "Y" then his points are still listed but should not be included in the total. Good example is West Harbour colts 1sts...

    Shute Shield 2013

If Kingston was a fresh reserve then the points total should have been 26 as he attracts 8 points. The NSWRU seems to struggle with knowing who's a fresh reserve and who played a lower grade game when adding up the points! Tilse is zero points BTW, I assume due to length of service. Dargeville...

    Shute Shield 2013

Toby's in 2nds (FB last week), Cadyn Matehaere has been the 10 for the last few games. We'll have to see what happens, but I suspect Beale may flit between 10 and 15 and both will play.

    Shute Shield 2013

Remember "all other players" (ie basically non-rep players) are only worth 2 points and this is discounted 1 point per year for each year of service at the same club. Reserves don't count in the points total if they have played in a lower grade on the same day. Liam Winton has 9 points, James...
