    Blues v NSW Waratahs @ Auckland - 2011R09

To an extent, yes. Plenty of players will have niggling injuries that won't affect their performance once they are in the heat of battle, and can be looked at further down the track. If it's a reasonably significant, performance hampering injury then I agree with you.

Have to disagree. He's not as robustly built as McCabe but Davies puts his body on the line as much as McCabe, and does not lack for courage.

Stormers vs Queensland Reds @ Newlands - 2011R08

Very happy with that win. I really thought the Stormers would bash the Reds forwards off the park, similar to what the Tah's did a few weeks back but it didn't happen that way at all. There was a great resolve there and some pretty starchy defense. Samo was a cracker of an inclusion. Cooper...

    Sonny Bill

Rod Davies more likely to make superfly than Cooper, and he was a golden gloves boxer during his school days, apparently.

Good lineup. So Schatz and Tapuai out of the 22. Hope Harris goes ok at 12 but I think he'll be more comfortable at 12 than at 15, where Morahan is a better option. Hope Chambers makes the most of his chances if he gets on the paddock.

    Brumbies v. Hurricanes - 2011R08

Brumbies are playing for pride and self respect this game..but then again maybe the Hurricanes are as well. I wonder who will be the more desperate?

Rebels renege on Broncos player. Anyone know why?

Bad luck for the guy, but if he's serious and thinks he can make it in rugby, then he should back himself, pack up and move to Sydney, find a pub job, and turn out for the Two Blues. Worked in reverse for Beau Robinson.

    Reds 2011

The Reds season could very well be decided over the next three weeks. Stormers this weekend over there and then back home against the Bulls and the Waratahs. That's three bloody tough games! Let's hope this weekend doesn't knock them around too much, and I hope McKenzie has the opportunity to...

Well they just may have to deliver on that potential this weekend...it's going to be about as physical as they will come across!

    Lions v Reds - 2011R07

Happy with that win. Nothing went right in the first half, and 20 minutes of it was played a man down. Despite this and an opportunistic try to the Lions right after half time, the Reds kept their composure, played their way back into the game, and then asserted their dominance at the back end...

Stormers vs Queensland Reds @ Newlands - 2011R08

Harris looks to have presented Link with a selection dilemma. His goal kicking on the weekend looked peerless, and that kind of quality goalkicking will be needed against the Stormers. It did seem apparent though that he is not a fullback, so what to do with him? Was it an off day for Cooper and...

Who are the fastest players in NSW rugby?

The sprint should be over 40m, that's the relevant distance for rugby. Who would it be if that was the case?

    Lions v Reds - 2011R07

Funnily enough, the best game that I have seen Chambers play this season was the trial v. Crusaders in Cairns. He ran great lines and defended ok. Not sure where his confidence went after that, if that is the issue. How did he go in the Darwin trial Ruggo?

    Brumbies vs Highlanders - 2011R08

Backs selections are puzzling, and I think it boils down to the refusal to move Gits to 12. 10. To'omua 12. Giteau 15. Lealifano would seem to be the best combo of those three. Having said that Lealifano goes alright at 12. and To'omua will probably be a bit like Gerard at 15, not a lot of pace...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

And from Tigertown.....Haven't had any real updates but the big loss this year will be James Charalambous, who is going into early retirement due to a horrible run of injuries. Scarce on the ground for Reds but Quirk and Toua have appeared in the top team and will be good value at Prem level. In...

    Lions v Reds - 2011R07

Early days yet, we haven't seen Harris start or play 80 minutes yet, let alone have any meaningful time at fullback. I hope that people aren't as quick to slag him off if he has a quiet game or makes a few errors, as they have been to dub him a 'wallaby in waiting'. With Harris in the team...
