    Cheetahs vs Waratahs - 2011R05

This is the Cheetah's v Waratah's thread isn't it? I heard the result before I watched the replay and I have to say that I was astounded. Not as much by the final result...I mean upsets do happen.... but by the actual scoreline. Viewing the game though, the Cheetah's looked...

An excellent post Sully. Agree with most of your observations about the game and like your spin on the 'culture' thing.

    Reds 2011

Not sure that anyone deserves to be dropped after such a big win. Rotation might be a good thing to rest a couple of guys with niggles ahead of theSA road trip, but the Cheetahs shouldn't be underestimated.

    Reds vs Rebels - 2011R05

Hate being negative but the Rebels were awful. Well done Reds for putting 50+ on the Rebels, and getting the bonus point, but don't expect anything that easy for the rest of the season.

    Lions vs Force - 2011R05

Really liked the look of Alfi Mafi last week. Showed a lot of promise as a school boy I thought, so hopefully he is now starting to deliver on some of that now. If I remember correctly he played in the centres for NSW and Aus Schools A, so he may well be an option there for the Force.

If you ask me Lee, I would have to say Josh Holmes is the gold medallist in this category.

    Hard men of australian rugby

To me hard men are those who have little respect for self preservation and those who others look over their shoulder for. Jerry Collins typified the hard man in my books. As far as Auusies go: Chris Roche - played well above his weight all the time. Of the current crop: Rebels -...

    Reds vs Rebels - 2011R05

I'm hoping upon hope that tonight sees the Reds rediscover that exciting brand of rugby that captivated us all in 2010. Couple of things: It's time for Messrs Genia and Cooper to step up and reignite the backline. Genia to again demonstrate why he should be the skipper. As Moses said...

Is Stephano Hunt still with the Force?

Read it correctly the first time. He still has to get through one or the other to get to Quade defending at 15. Just being a smart arse, don't mind me. :)

    Cheetahs vs Waratahs - 2011R05

I think people are being a little harsh on Fitzpatrick. Probably doesn't deserve the adulation shown by the forum's Gen Y'ers but he is only 21 and that's young for a hooker. He'll get more robust and physical that's for sure. He probably suffers a bit from being a bit of a poster boy since...

That's a hosing...any idea of the team sheet LG, I hope it was no where near full strength.

Why... Fainga'a is at least the equal of Tapuai in defence?

Some good cattle there, the forwards look like they will be particularly strong, and all the better for having played last year for the majority of them. As suggested by Every.... all the S15 guys will probably be encouraged to take part. Will the S15 be over by the end. The only top youngster...

Ioane to 13 and Tapuai on the bench with Morahan starting on the wing looks ok. I presume Lucas will be at fullback again. I wonder how long Link will stick with his reserve half starting in another position? OK until both get injured in the same game.

I've been impressed with Butler, who played No.8 for Qld A last start. He is eligible and would have to be a big shot of filling that spot. Also from Qld there is an outside back in Joel Faulkner who might be worthy of consideration.

The final squad will be interesting. I think a lot of last years forwards will be eligible, but a number, including Gill, Fainga'a, Quirk and Hooper have already been on the S15 stage. Will they be released? Sitauti and Shipperley will return in the backs but not many others. So it looks to a...

    Reds vs Rebels - 2011R05

I've seen Tapuai at outside centre a number of times in various teams and from memory he gave a good account of himself. The one thing he should do well, if indeed he is called up, is defend the channel. Be a tough call on Chambers though.

If Van and Horwill are being rested ahead of the SA tour, then Wallace-Harrison to start with Samo on the bench, or vice-versa. McDuling as a left field choice?
