    Rebels vs Hurricanes - 2011R06

Maybe, but it's still good to see that it is continuing, given he is a rookie. I was going to suggest that the Brumbies let a good one go, but they are pretty well stcked in that department.

    Force v Stormers - 2011R06

Absolutely Paarl, but it really only works when you have good depth and the backup players turn up. Stormers have done well, as have the Force, in filling Pocock's shoes, but the Tah's sucked last week doing the same thing.

Will someone with a better IT intellect than me transfer the last 6 posts (sans Scarfy's rant so 5) to a new thread titled "Best Centre pairings". I would if I could, but I can't.

First Lucas and now Kingi, is this a sign of the times, playing your reserve half at fullback?

    Reds vs Cheetahs - 2011R06

It will be interesting to see the dynamic when Horwill returns as captain. I think Genia has lifted his performance with the extra responsibility. Hopefully he doesn't revert to Meerkat status on Saturday.

    Forecast - super !5 finals

Early days yet, but that is looking pretty good value. Where I differ - I tend to think that Stormers will top SA and it will be tight between Bulls and Sharks. And one of those will miss out to the Blues.

Sela and Cordoneau(sp) were up there with the best.

Springboks out with the old & in with the new?

That is, quite simply, scary! Huge, agressive and mobile. And if Smith is fit...holy hell!

When you think about it, the centre pairing is one of the most important combinations on the field and an essential ingredient for team success. Probably should be another thread but apart from Horan/Little, what have been some of the best in international rugby?

Macqueen past his used by date?

That may be the case but I would ask why Laurie Weeks hasn't started for one thing. He must regret leaving Qld, where he would have been a starting prop IMO. Also, if back depth is so thin, why isn't Betham given a crack at fullback? Different standard altogether but he played there for OZ...

    Hard men of australian rugby

    Stan Pilecki anyone?

Macqueen past his used by date?

I voted "Yes" on the understanding that he had a major say in picking the squad, and he has a major say in week to week selections. If the cattle aint good enough then it's his fault for picking them in the first place.

God I hope that the Rebels put last weeks game behind them. This aint the strongest looking NZ team but it still looks pretty handy. Good to see Jack Lam starting again.

Has Link announced his team yet? Can't help but think that my earlier observation won't be too short of the mark.

Hear, hear Bruce. The unfortunate downside to opinion forums is the excessive vitriol directed at certain players. Too easy to do from the safety net of a couch I guess.

    Brumbies vs Waratahs - 2011R06

With the Brumbies in such a state of disrepair, I can't help but wonder why the likes of To'omua and Hooper aren't getting a start. If the Brumbies management maintain their focus on the "leadership group" they may well find their future sneaking out the door.

If both Horwill and Schatz are fit this week, the forward selections will be interesting. Liked Samo off the bench last week and reckon he should stay put. Hopefully Horwill plays at lock, so maybe AWH and Samo on the bench and one of the young tyro's to have a break this week?

    Brumbies vs Waratahs - 2011R06

Can't see the Brumbies winning this one given who is out. Also, if they commit as many cynical penalties as they did against the Reds then the Tah's have to hope Barnes and Beale have their kicking boots on.

    Reds vs Rebels - 2011R05

Don't think it would be fair to drop Ben Tapuai after such a big win and playing him out of position. Maybe a bench spot for him, put Chambers on the wing, Digby into 13?
