Good looking team and seems Link is rotating a few. Has covered his bets by leaving Daley, Simmo and Taps on the bench but where is Chambers. Thought Shep might might have got at least a bench spot. Suppose if Slipper replaced then Holmes to THP and Daley to LHP - all are 80 minute players which must be very satisfying for link.

Its remarkably satisfying to know that there are 5 forwards on the bench who could effectively rotate into the starting pack without reducing the overall quality

THe Lions centers are quivering in anticipation

The Diggers move to 13 and Harris to 15 is a clear indication to me that Link feels he will need more punch to get through the Stormers defense next week. He could have stayed with the same backline (barring Morahan for Lucas) which would be less risk vs the Lions, but I think he is looking at the stronger defense of the Stormers with the combo.

Very exciting. I think Ben Lucas will have his work cut out, getting that 15 jumper back.

Early days yet, we haven't seen Harris start or play 80 minutes yet, let alone have any meaningful time at fullback. I hope that people aren't as quick to slag him off if he has a quiet game or makes a few errors, as they have been to dub him a 'wallaby in waiting'.

With Harris in the team, will he become the first choice goalkicker? From what I have heard he is superior to Cooper in that area.

Regarding Harris:

Firstly, he is only going to get the gig long term if he can be as successful as Lucas is at cover Quade in defense.

Secondly, he isn't going to be the goal kicker until he is a guaranteed starter. I would also think Lucas is better or at least as good a kicker as Quade, but he hasn't been asked to step up to the plate.

The Kiwi commentators were saying that he had the best goal kicking percentages in the ITM Cup last year though that was a few rounds before the end of the comp. Whatever - if folks remember his kicking from last year he is clearly a better goal kicker than Cooper.

This was why I was rabbiting on about him as a potentially valuable acquisition in case QC (Quade Cooper) or A.Finger got hurt. Also: he ran it to the line a bit and looked good in the ITMC, but I didn't appreciate how good he was on long runs until I saw a trial video clip, and folks were asking who made a particular long break. Farque, it was Harris.

I haven't seen him as a fullback but watch for some long hoists on the veldt - and the odd penalty kick from his half of the ground.

It must be hard having to pick players in all positions who can cover up for your flyhalfs frailities

Do you mean "frailty"? Because, defence aside, you might want to look at his kicking stats vs nsw.

I bet link brings Will Chambers back for the big games against the Saders, Tahs & Blues.

I bet link brings Will Chambers back for the big games against the Saders, Tahs & Blues.

I would prefer if he went into those games with some confidence. No game time before then may result in a crunching which could ruin him for the season. Needs to train hard and give Link a reason to put him back on the pitch as soon as possible if he wants a shot at the WC.

Funnily enough, the best game that I have seen Chambers play this season was the trial v. Crusaders in Cairns. He ran great lines and defended ok. Not sure where his confidence went after that, if that is the issue. How did he go in the Darwin trial Ruggo?

I really like the team for the weekend. Thank god Holmes is starting for Daley, I hope it stays that way.

I am really hoping that Genia doesn't get injured as Prior looks good at club level but in South Africa I am a bit worried about him.
