Oom Lee, bit off topic , havent got your report after the Tin Ears vs Tahs match?

You are a bliksem, boet. This krimpie was gatvol with the Tahs because they played like moffies.

Well done to the Tin Ears: it was a lekker performance.

:lmao: , I knew you would be a bit heart broken. See Brussouw is now out for three weeks. It will hurt them badly.

Jim Tucker from the Courier Mail is also calling for Chambers to return. Don't think Link usually takes much notice of what the press have to say about things so that probably spells the end of Chambers' season...

Chambers fit and playing to ability is a big plus for the Reds but as he is not need either Taps or Ioane covering the spot. Trouble is, how does he regain form if not playing - glad its not my decision

Onwards and upwards for the Reds it seems after the last 2 blowout wins. They should be landing in Jo'burg about now to get ready for the Lions match.

Don't think this game can in anyway be considered as a certain win. Although the Lions have only won once this season, they haven't been falling short of the other South African teams by much and have twice finished within 7 points of the Bulls.

I wonder if Link will use this match to get Chambers back into things, either starting or via the bench?

My Line up prediction for the Reds is:
15. Harris 14. Davies 13. Chambers 12. Fainga'a 11. Ioane 10. Cooper 9. Genia 8. Houston 7. Robinson 6. Higginbotham 5. Horwill 4. Simmons 3. Slipper 2. Fainga'a
1. Daley

Reserves: 16. Hanson 17. Holmes 18. Samo 19. Schatz 20. Prior 21. Tapaui 22. Morahan

I'll go with 15. Morahan 14. Davies 13. Tapuai 12. Fainga'a 11. Ioane 10. Cooper 9. Genia 8. Houston 7. Robinson 6. Higginbotham 5. Horwill 4. Simmons 3. Slipper 2. Fainga'a 1. Daley.

Reserves: 16. Hanson 17. Holmes 18. Samo 19. Schatz 20. Prior 21. Harris 22. Chambers

Shit Paarl. Not the kiss of death.
Not at all, as much as I would like the Lions to hit the Reds its not going to happen. The Reds simply have to much class all over the show and the Lions is disappointing at the moment. Mitchell dont do it for me at the Lions. He dispatch Walter Venter to the Leapards in Vodacom, end up without a backup 12 when Doppies was injured. Jaco Taute played some great rugby early on and was demoted to the bench for Kilian, just to make place for fellow Kiwi Kamana and dont get that Elroy Jantjies dont cut it on SupeRugby level while having a experience Genl Petoors or even Jaco Tautes favourate position. Things dont look good for me in the Lions camp. Murray is no where. Boetie Boetie Spencer politics if you ask me.

I agree, Palmer was tried in the 1 jumper last year (by Deans?) and didn't cut the mustard. I wouldn't put Dan at LHP ever again.

It took me a while but I got it eventually when I went back and looked at the previous pages. Well done Lindommer, truth wrapped up in a riddle.

What do our SA friends make of Elton Jantjies? I watched him last year at U20 level and he looked very capable. He had that real unpredictability about him, not unlike Quade at the same age. These types generally take a little while longer to manage their game at the highest level, but on talent alone (let's assume he has the application) this bloke is a genuine 'anything' player.

Chambers over Taps any day. Taps hasn't done anything good or bad. Chambers will be raring to go.

taps has only played 2 starts. if he's not done anything bad, and defends well, surely thats a pretty good achievement so far? to me, means when he starts to settle in he may well cut loose every now and then. well done to the young man.......

^^ i agree, however i think its fair to make the assessment that Taps isnt a outside centre(plenty of us said this before the Rebels game), if the Reds are going to compete with the other top super rugby teams like the Crusaders and Stormers, then Will Chambers qualities are far more suited then Taps.

big changes for the Reds vs Lions...

15. Harris
14. Davies
13. Ioane
12. Fainga'a
11. Morahan
10. Cooper
9. Genia
8. Houston
7. Robinson
6. Higginbotham
5. Wallace-Harrison
4. Horwill
3. Slipper
2. Fainga'a
1. Holmes

16. Hanson
17. Daley
18. Simmons
19. Samo
20. Shatz
21. Prior
22. Tapuai

Three changes have been made to the starting backline with Wallabies livewire Digby Ioane shifted to outside centre, Mike Harris selected at fullback to replace the injured Ben Lucas, and Luke Morahan on the wing.

This will be offseason recruit Harris’ first game in the starting team for the Reds and comes after Lucas sustained a groin injury in the Reds most recent 41-8 victory over the Cheetahs.

In the forwards Greg Holmes has earned selection at loosehead prop while Adam Wallace-Harrison will pack down alongside captain James Horwill in the second row.
