I think he was conservative with his kicking today………except the one that was about 2cm from the corner.

Hodge was excellent. I think in the first half he was kicking into a breeze?

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

The Wallabies absorbed an enormous amount of pressure in that first half. The game was won then. SA didn’t have much in attack

He is our best bet ATM and is deceptively fast. His positional play is very good and of course the boot is invaluable if used well. Eventually Petaia may come good. He has extraordinary ability in counter attack and in taking the high ball but just needs more control in general. I doubt Wright...

The bomb squad theory is not a bad one. Bell, Porecki and TT finishing off games. They will roll most scrums

Rodda just gets through a mountain of work at the coal face. He was sorely missed last test along with Philip.

It seems Philip is proving himself over and over. Rodda is a no brainer and if Arnold can lift his form he also is an automatic selection. I see Swain and Neville as the next tier down. Swain backing up Arnold(whoneeds to prove in this test he is worth the spot) and Neville backing up the other...

Need some decent boots at the back. I would have Jordy Petaia on the bench to back up Hodge and Kellaway

I think Petaia is pretty good under the high ball. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hodge at 15 with Kellaway and Koreibete on the wings with Petaia @ 23

Also no need having both Wright and Hodge on the bench. If Foley is up to it I’d have him on the pine to have a look at him

JOC (James O'Connor) is not a test class 10. He has never performed well at 10 at the highest level. He does not fit in elsewhere any longer as there are a number of people ahead of him at 12/13/14/15. I guess Rennie had to give him a run, although a win for the Wallabies last week was important. On the other...

    Argentina v Australia II @ 5.10am 14/08

I’m not sure that JOC (James O'Connor) has the appetite for contact needed to be a test 12 these days. 10 or 15 were the only places he was going to be selected. Maybe he could be a decent bench option if Hodge was not available?

TT has to come off the bench. His impact is greater and he is just better against tired legs. For now AAA is much more solid to start and help set the tone.

    They always do it early.

Hopefully AAA is good to go and will start with TT coming off the bench. Tupou is more suited to that role where he can have an impact and get some confidence. The bomb squad demand that we have a decent bench front row. The Boks look very strong.

    Wallabies 2023

They are being “brought in” to observe the group and see how it all works. I can recall this happening on and off for a very long time with up and coming stars and league converts before they are actually ready to be considered for test footy. Its no big deal, Just Rennie looking ahead.

Philip has to be there against the Boks. We will need his physicality. I would guess first choice are Philip and Swain right now. They seem to cover all the bases and Philips lineout work is much improved.
