I was not impressed with Rodda's work for the Force this year. IMO he was never as good as Rory Arnold and Rory is having difficulty re-establishing himself in the Wallabies at present. Rodda is good to excellent at lineout, but so are all of his direct competitors, Swain, Philip and Frost. Rodda's work with ball in hand is very ordinary, hardly ever getting more than 1m over the gain line, if that. In that respect he is similar to Swain but well behind Philip and Frost. His maul defence is no doubt good, but Arnold and Swain are indisputably the best at this craft in the country, and Philip and Holloway are not far behind. His tackling/defence is not outstanding but on a par with each of the others. In summary, Rodda offers less overall than any of the other Locks in contention for a Wallaby's berth. I reckon we would have to suffer a few injuries and lose Rory back to Japan for Rodda to come into the team.

Philip was good in the second English test, but then was poor in the following two games and was outmuscled against Argentina...

He doesn't seem to provide the same level of physicality as the other options, and certainly not as defensively sound... but good in the lineout and with the exception of Frost the better ball carrier in the group.

Swain put in what was the best performance by a Wallaby lock this year in the win against Argentina, and then played himself out of this test the following week...

Neville, great in the first English test but after being injured in the second we haven't really seen enough of him at this level.

If Arnold can play to his potential then he's probably a shoe in, but again need to see it.

I don't think any of them have yet to lock in their place for next year...

Just about the best team that can be put together right now. Regardless now of win or lose this weekend, it is time for Rennie et al to stick with these players and just offer rotation on and off the bench to give all of them opportunities with decent game time. The exceptions would be accommodate Hooper, Bell, Cooper and Kerevi when they are again available. No more chopping and changing test to test.

I think Rodda was a victim of playing with an injury has now forced him to miss 3+ months

The key for these two for me, is success in calling the line out. I wouldn't see both as being ideal. I want a bigger tight head lock for the scrums, and after the caller I want a bulk hulking beast with menace around the field. Arnold maybe in form, but right now I like Swain. In time it could be Skelton.

The two starting locks are not the same, different roles and different best for 4 and 5.

I like having both Sio and Tupou coming off the bench, they will both add some physicality and energy. Porecki will ensure will end the match with solid line-out throwing. I like it.

Not sure where Bell fits in the pecking order. Sio and Slipper looking good. Bell has been great too though.

The Wallabies seem to be able to put it together once every three games. On that basis I think we lose this game but win next week.

I'm today years old when I learnt that sat is an arvo test, I love arvo footy but with no afl on & the sat night nrl game is not a huge one while still a good game, this should be in prime time!

I love me an afternoon test and will be on hand to watch it with a mate in person. Don’t mind the side that’s been picked either. A few blokes coming back certainly help.

Allow for the injuries and other reasons players have been unavailable - I'm not convinced that Rennie hasn't been doing this all along. Um Sticking with rotation, not chopping and changing.
