That backline could do some serious damage in a hurry if they get in sinc and our piggies get a little better than parity.

Time for these younger players to take up the slack. Petaia, Paisami, Swain and Wright. They have a good amount of experience now. Thats a pretty gnarly Argie pack. Holloway will be good. Looking for some solid direction from Cooper.

Rob Simmons was pretty bloody good for a long time. As a youngster he had a lot of similarities to Darcy Swain. Let’s hope Darcy has just as long a career as Rob.

We will see. I think RA and Rennie will try and convince one or more of the OS players they are interested in to re-sign back in OZ before the RWC. This will open up the opportunity to choose others, like Skelton, if they wish to. They will probably take another look at him on the EOYT. I am not...

He should be good late in the game but may be a liability at scrum time as Sio and Bell are not available.

He played very well against England. He looks too be in good nick. Lonergan presumably moves onto the bench?

More like our next Melon. He reminds me of him. He could be a very good fit at 6 and negate the need for looking at Skelton at all.

    Wallabies 2023

Simone has had a few chances where he did not capitalise. I’d have Foketi ahead of Simone but Paisami well in front of both.

    Wallabies 2023

Its got to be Paisami for the first test you would think. He has a well rounded game and he is better than he was when he started in test rugby. He just needs to reign it in a bit and hold on to the pill rather than kicking or throwing a speculator in 50-50 situations. He also has a lot more...

That decision is easy now. Quade needs to step up and organise the midfield.

Sevens 2021/22 (World Series, Oceania, Comm Games & R7WC)

The girls were so good and dominated the final. Well done! Men disappointing in the semi. Made some huge mistakes which cost them dearly.

I think we are but we do not have the right playmaker to bring that talent in to play often enough.

    Wallabies 2023

Samu has been great at 6 and 8 and injects a lot of energy into the game off the bench. He is not a 7, although he can cover it in a pinch if needed. I think McReight is getting closer to challenging for the 7 jersey but is not quite there yet. If, god forbid, Hooper was not available its likely...

    Wallabies 2023

Samu is nowhere near as good a 7 as Hooper. Nowhere no how. We have some other decent 7s around but Samu is down the list. He is the perfect bench back rower and should be left right there.
  15. Joe Blow

    Wallabies 2023

I agree with FP. Holloway is most likely a good bench option at this stage to cover 5/6
  16. Joe Blow

    Wallabies 2023

Valetini bends the line often and is a beast in defence. I think he was a little quiet in the English series but his development has been good and should continue. FWIW Wilson also bends/breaks the line often for the Reds. Part of it must be who is feeding them the ball. Hopefully QC (Quade Cooper) will have...

Gleeson looks very good. Not sure how his set piece work is but he can carry and defend.

    Wallabies 2023

I dont think that is Brett McKays MO. There is something in it and we were unable to convert a good share of possession into a similar amount of territory. IMHO this reflects a less than stellar kicking game and a lack of effective ball carrying. I am sure that it is being addressed as we chat.

The numbers dont lie. They all carried on average under 2m for the whole series.

Good article by Brett McKay https://www.theroar.com.au/2022/07/26/wallabies-backrow-punch-was-lacking-vs-england-but-is-crucial-for-argentina/ Back row needs something. Holloway worth a look but we also need more productivity from our tight 5 in the carry.
