    These kids can play!

IRB U/20 Tournament and Oz Squad

This kiwi side has so much athletic ability. Aus can control tempo through set-piece and then patient phase play, and with a defensive line speed cutting down space for the Kiwi 3/4s, they will secure plenty of ball to dictate play (hopefully).

Hooper! Nice tackle on Kiwi loosehead.. Very high quality play from both teams so far.

F*ck,, Kiwis made that look way too easy..

IRB U/20 Tournament and Oz Squad

sensational try.. nicely worked build-up and just went through the hands to finish it off after over 3 minutes of phase play. Kiwis have barely touched the ball

The Elsom Saga - Clubs withdrawing offers is all the rage...

I think he was injury free. He played 21 matches for Leinster (out of a total of 29 matches of which 18 were in the Magners and 9 were in the HEC as winners) and played a full 80 minutes in 19 of them (70 mins and 63 mins in the other two). I think he was MOtM is 13 of the games in which he...

    Phil Waugh retires

An extraordinary warrior and leader. He demanded and commanded respect both on and off the field. He'd make a formidable coach at the highest levels, but I believe he's determined to head into the business world. On another note, it really will be a lot easier for any new coach coming into NSW...

    TPN gone for 3N...

That was my thought too..3 Months following a knee op leaves no margin for error. It's not as if he's carrying an 85kg frame on those knees either.

Semi Final Qualifier 2: Crusaders v Sharks: Nelson

I think the return of Ellis is critical here. With their 3rd ranked 9 on the park, the 'Saders driving game and slow ball approach suffered. Ellis/Carter have the experience to guide a Saders team at home deeper into the knock-out stages even if their lineout and Marshall at the back are weak...

Semi Final 1: Blues vs Waratahs

Yes, I imagine these grubs feel pretty chastened now (the same pathetic, small grub like people whose dollars and interest continue to enable rugby players to enjoy a dreamed about career as a pro-athlete and fuel heir life-style)

    Damn.. huge loss.

IRB U/20 Tournament and Oz Squad

Dont be so quick to hand it to the Kiwis; they have smashed 'nobodies' to be honest. They are very proficient with the ball, but their tight 5 is nothing special. The Argies had them flying backwards at scrum time and the Italians hit them hard at the breakdown in the 2nd half.. As usual, they...

IRB U/20 Tournament and Oz Squad

France have some big well muscled kids out there. Not so sure who will wear down first, but Aussie lads just need to get their hands on the ball and build through phases. French legs will tire. Hope it's before Aussie wears down. Still think Aus will win this.

    Queensland Reds V Chiefs 2011R18

Beau who? Reds really have developed a superb squad. Link has done a magnificent job getting squad members to step up with all the injuries Reds have had. PS. And who woudn't have Richie as their starting no 7 in a winner takes all contest (incl. the car and house keys along wives...

The Elsom Saga - Clubs withdrawing offers is all the rage...

Hawko, apart from money, length of contract etc, what other "special" or extraordinary terms are you alluding to?

The Elsom Saga - Clubs withdrawing offers is all the rage...

Highly informative post Gnostic! I had heard that the blazers in Canberra called time on Elsom after Elsom informed them that he would continue to look around and secure the best possible deal for himself, while still leaving the door open to the Brumbies. While Waugh and Elsom aren't...

This is going to get a lot worse as WC time approaches.

    Queensland Reds V Chiefs 2011R18

Away from home and in the wet....against a messy, difficult team.. I just don't like it. The Chiefs set-piece has been a weakness each and every season under Foster; it has varied from absolute shithouse to inconsistent at best. Ironically, the Chief's lineout and scrum has been a little more...

    Queensland Reds V Chiefs 2011R18

Messam has been one of the form players of the season. Leonard is playing like he did when first capped and that 3/4 line is superb. Chiefs have given the Blue and Crusaders fits in recent weeks. I can see the Chiefs winning this.
