Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

JOC (James O'Connor) has proven he is a world-class winger, he was one of the best performing wallabies at the last RWC. Probably even the form winger of the whole comp. Mogg is too fresh for Test footy, he has a habit of cracking under the pressure and his defence is still questionable. His defence is rarely...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I am predicting JOC (James O'Connor) will get a wing spot come RWC15. For the reason above. Having an extra kicker and playmaking option on the wing really balances out the back 3 IMO, given Falou is at 15. I'd say the best balanced back-3 would be 11. Spreight 14. JOC (James O'Connor) 15. Falou. Too bad JOC (James O'Connor) is an ass.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

As mentioned above, The most interesting competition I think is between the 6 and 8. You would think on form Fardy will start, but he could start at lock? Palu, Higgers and now McCalman are all playing so well we are really spoiled for choice. So far, Hooper has the 7 jersey wrapped up...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Agreed. There should be no certainties at this stage. Pocock has been out for so long now that he has a lot work to do to get selected again, Spreight needs to prove himself this international season and Cooper needs to remain consistent. Genia needs to regain form again. Falou is probably the...

    Brumbies 2014

Yep, It was pissing rain all week to the lead up to the game. There was no way I wanted to go out there in the cold and wet. I prefer to watch it in the comfort of my own home.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Simmons is a good Test player. We have seen a lot of him. He had a great EOYT but before that was average to solid in the jersey. So I guess people are seeing more potential in other locks. I agree he is a good package but there is a chance he will be dropped for a newbie with an outstanding...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Bit Harsh on Digby, He was not as threatening as he use to be but I think this was just a case that the opposition were more aware of him. The inside balls that use to work so well the opponents now saw coming. He is still a dangerous runner and would get over the gain line 99% of time. He would...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Come 2015 - would we be expecting Digby and/or JOC (James O'Connor) to return? They would also be pushing for outside back spots. Palmer I'd also expect to return next year who could be another prop pushing for a spot in the 23.

I don't think anyone expects Hodgeson to get the nod ahead of Hooper. But we do recognise his form is currently very good, probably better then Hoopers this season. I think he deserves to make the 30 man squad behind Hooper but ahead of Gill.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

I think its perfectly fine to bring in a 33 year old to cover for the incumbents eg Pocock, Hooper. (if Hooper were injured too).

I can see your point about continuity. But I don't think picking Hodgson over Gill at this point in time will cause any disruption to the squad. Gill is hardly an important member to the team and Hodgeson has been around the squad enough to know how things work.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

I rate him ahead of Gill on current form this super xv season.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

I really do hope to see Hodgson in the squad. I don't think age should be a question, he has some wallabies experience and I would bet my life savings he wouldn't let anyone down. I'd say current on current form, Hooper would get the nod being the incumbent and a consistent wallaby performer...

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

Jono Lance is probably the more reliable/safer option at fullback then Beale. But then you lose Kurtley's counter attacking abilities. Would of liked to see Horne at 12, seems strange to have him on the wing. Still a pretty good team on paper.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

IMO the best balanced back 3 Aus could possibly have at this stage would be 11. Digby/Spreight 14. JOC (James O'Connor) 15. Falou. Although I did compare JOC (James O'Connor) and Robbie, I agree Robbie has a long way to go before getthing to JOC (James O'Connor)'s level. But I see similarities, both play above there weight, are playmakers, and...

Robbie Colman is the new JOC (James O'Connor). You heard it here first. ;) (in terms of rugby - not off-field behaviour).

    Wallaby Watch 2014

I disagree, Izzy was the player who was able to get his hands on the ball but unfortunately knocked on. So IMO Mogg didn't win the collision Izzy lost it. Nice pressure from Mogg though but in reality Mogg was unlikely to catch and retain the ball. There's the difference, Izzy 9 times out of...

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Mogg is a great pacey attacker and probably has the best general play boot in Aus. But he is rarely tested defensively or even under the high ball at super level. The AB's bombs and general pressure from kicks in general play has been a weapon they have used against us for years successfully...

Anyone who isn't picking Falou at 15 is absurd. Beale for the bench.

    Brumbies v Waratahs Rnd 5 2014

The Tahs had the right tactics early on with the chip kicks that worked so well. With the speed of the Brumbies rush defence I have no idea why the Tah's did not put more chip kicks in.
