No strong goal kicker is a concern. Its gunna be either Foley, White, or Lealifano. Foley and White are pretty fresh and untested, Lealifano off form. Also a clear captain is still in question. Hooper probably.

Horne makes sense now. He can be considered on the wing now with experience in that position and he has experience playing 13 at Test level. He is proven he can handle the pressure's of Test footy - hasn't played a bad game for the wallabies, I mean no outstanding performances but certainly...

    Matt Giteau

Toulon have Wilkinson at 10 right? So Gits must be playing mostly at 12? No wonder he is shining he's finally back playing in his best position.

I wish this was the case. But Larkham has already stated he would not be changing a winning game-plan - or a game plan that took them to the finals. So the majority of the structures Jake left would still be in place. Unfortunately I think the attacking game we saw and loved against the Chiefs...

    Wallaby Watch 2014

That question is easily answered. The Brumbies play a different game-plan, a more conservative game plan. Also, as previously mentioned the Tah's haven't exactly scored all their tries as a result of Foley's attacking abilities, but more as a result of other individuals in the team - Falou being...

    Brumbies 2015

Wow, really impressed the Brumbies were able to keep the majority of the squad in-tact. Curious to see who's going to be Captain next year. Pocock would have been my first choice but question marks now raised since his injury. To'omua or Fardy is my pick.

To'omua isn't bad at the restarts, I think he would look a lot better if he had Falou and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) chasing them too! I don't think restarts are going to be an issue, at least not enough to include Foley in the squad. If he is chosen in the squad it should be for other reasons.

I think some would argue Kurindrani is a better 13, or at least not far behind on form. Also its weird you didn't mention To'omua. He has clearly been the best 10 by a country mile even with Coopers injury.

He's a horrible defender. Would not like to see him anywhere near a 10 or 12 channel.

I was thinking more of Ella, Larkham and now Cooper. I think Larkham/Horan was our best combination and I wouldn't call Horan a long-passing 12. Gits was also a great 12 , which I guess you could call a long-passing 12 but what I think actually made him great in the position was his ball-running...

This may be true. But it has never been so in the history of the wallabies. We have always performed best with an elusive and long passing 10. And remember McKenzie is attempting to play "the Australian way".

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Wouldn't say pig-headed, I'd say playing things safe. They're combination worked well last year and suited their territory game-plan as To'omua is probably a better general play kicker. I doubt Larkham would want to risk changing a game-plan that worked, especially in his first year of coaching...

I think White might be reluctant to be a the primary kicker. I read somewhere Lilo stating so. So It's hard to put him in the wallabies squad as the primary kicker if the player doesn't want too be.

This, I can understand one or two that don't go out in the season, but one or two every game that doesn't find touch is extremely costly. Thinking of the Stormers game where we could have been in the Stormers half - finally about to attack TWICE, was extremely frustrating to watch.

You take the risk. Imagine this. Lilo playing 10 - in the form he was playing in 2011 (i think - before his ankle injury) combined with 12. To'omua in the form he was playing with the wallabies. We can only dream.

I hope you are right. I would be disappointed not to see either Jones or Carter in the squad. I'd prefer Carter as I have watched more of him being a Brumbies supporter but would have not issue at all with Jones being picked.

I'd have Carter as my first bolter for lock. There is lots of questions over his physicality at Test level but I had the same questions over Fardy before he debuted and he has been one of our best wallaby performers.

I agree with all of this. Personally I think on form, Foley deserves first crack or McCabe at 12 given what style you want to play. However I predict McKenzie will pick Lilo in the extended squad being the incumbent, Lilo might have a good game next week and show some promising signs at...
