If we can longer argue about Foley v Cooper OR Hooper v Pocock, will GAGR even have a reason to exist?

That’s fair. I’m still not sure he wouldn’t be better suited to 15 in the long run - although I’ll admit I am partly influenced there by reports of Carter Gordon’s progress. But Lucas is playing 10 and, for mine, he looks sharp there, at NRC level at least. Certainly a work in progress rather...

If there are a better pair of up and comers currently filling the 9 & 10 jerseys then McDermott & Lucas I am completely missing them.

Well, I didn’t suggest either of them had dibs on the spot - merely that they might come into calculations if they have good super rugby seasons. The clear difference is that they will presumably be playing 10, whereas Simone doesn’t appear likely to be. I agree with you that they would be long...

    RWC Pool D - Wallabies vs Uruguay -Saturday October 5 2019 @ 2:15pm

Don’t agree with the gist of your comment Bobby. Hooper is in great form and is the mainstay of our forward pack. If I had to pick between Pocock & Hooper for one jersey I’d pick Pocock 9 times out of 10 - but this is that 10th time. Of course, Pocock might change my mind with 1 dominant...

    RWC Pool D - Wallabies vs Uruguay -Saturday October 5 2019 @ 2:15pm

I generally like your team, but don’t agree with everything at the end. For me Latu has locked down his position as first choice 2 when it counts. And I am not sold that To'omua’s form off the bench makes him the option at 10. He’s had chances as starting 10 and has failed to nail it down...

    RWC Pool D - Wallabies vs Wales - Sunday 29 September 2019 @ 5.45pm

Finally got to watch the game this afternoon. I’d only seen the last 30 minutes prior to this. Although I understand the disappointment several good things have been on display IMO, which gives me some level of hope going forward. We clearly won’t be favourite for any of our finals (assuming we...

Big call BR. The Wallaby 10 jersey is certainly going to be interesting next year, but a guy who has really only had half a season of decent rugby at Super level doesn’t seem to me to be the guy we should be looking to slip into the 10 jersey - especially as it seems he is not likely to be...

RWC Pool D: Wallabies v Fiji, Sat 21st September, 2.45pm AEST, Sapporo Dome

I think that does him a bit of a disservice Derpus. I was against his selection initially, but one thing I’ve been impressed with is he seems to be being more measured but, if anything, the quality of his impact has gone up. I think Barbarian’s post nails it. He’s lucky to be there, it could...

RWC Pool D: Wallabies v Fiji, Sat 21st September, 2.45pm AEST, Sapporo Dome

It was a joke. Sam Scott-Young was a controversial omission from the 91 World Cup squad despite a late injury to Tim Gavin. Similar comments were made about the need for a genuine 8. Things turned out okay. Like most things 91 it has no actual current relevance.

Good environment for Vui too. Strong coaching staff, getting to work with Sio, Ala'alatoa, Fainga’a & Slipper and plenty of competition to be next cab off the rank.

IMO the first choice Tahs pack is not to bad if Dempsey is fit. They do lack a big body or two and if they can recruit someone or unearth a gem or two in NRC, they will be okay in the forwards. Their backline is looking pretty dire though. They’ll really need a couple of their rookies to come...
