    Reds 2020

Well - I’ll be careful what I write so as to not give away the result if anyone wants to watch it later (and it’s worth watching) - but watching that game reinforced to be that there are a few gems coming through at the Reds. Wilson good and McReight very good for Brothers whilst I thought...

Qld Rugby has been blessed with some wonderful partnerships - Slattery & Lynagh, Horan & Little, McCall & Eales, Wilson, Cockbain & Kefu, Genia & Cooper. Watching the QPR final I’m wondering if we are seeing another one emerging in Wilson & McReight.

I have heard (on here I think) that he is runs very good coaching sessions and his insight into the game is first rate. That’s not to say he is at all suitable as a head coach, and may not even mean he is suitable in a full time role but, if true, it would be nice to see him used somewhere.

Well - my only point of contention is AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). Suggests to me he probably has a seat on the plane over Petaia or DHP. Not totally unexpected, but i would have preferred Petaia. Amazing rise for Wright. Well done to the young man.

    Bledisloe II @ Eden Park

Last weekends result was strong enough to give me hope - and given we are playing the ABs in Eden Park, that itself is something of a miracle. But I expect the ABs to be much better and I can’t say I am anything more then very cautiously optimistic.

    Bledisloe II @ Eden Park

I personally hope we move on from AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). He deserves absolute respect for his career - but I don’t think he is the selection the Wallabies need for mine. IMO the number one selection criteria for jersey 23 is the best possible wing reserve and I don’t feel that is AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). If they don’t keep Banks...

It’s more than that even - there is a lot of focus on Ala'alatoa (and fair enough) but all of Sio, Slipper & Tupou provide us front row strength we just haven’t had. JOC (James O'Connor) appears a different player, and Genia & Coleman (small sample admittedly) are playing closer to the best versions of themselves.

Although if Coleman can put in a 60 minute shift of the quality of his minutes on Saturday, it will at least go some way to cover Arnold being out.

Wallabies vs All Blacks 10th August @Optus Stadium Perth

Sorry - I’m should have said I though Hooper was lucky he didn’t make stronger contact with the ball. It looks to me like he is trying to bat it dead. He probably isn’t - he’d know beyond doubt you can’t do that which was one of the reasons I found it weird - but he does look to me like he is...

Wallabies vs All Blacks 10th August @Optus Stadium Perth

I will say that I would like the refs to be stronger on neck rolls. Not sure there were 14 - but if there were that just shows how bad it has become. I also noticed in the lead up to Koriobete’s try there were at least two Australian’s (Naisarani & Rodda from memory) who cleaned out with their...

Fuck that. He could get hurt crossing the road. This is the first time for a long time I can remember going out on a Sunday and turning up at work on Monday and non-rugby followers talking about how good the Wallabies were. We need to play 100% to win and deal with any fallout come what may...

On the plus side, we get JOC (James O'Connor) and, on last nights evidence, that is a bloody good get.
