Australia v Scotland, 3:00pm 17 June Sydney Football Stadium

I would say 9 is more of an issue. 14 points directly from a charged down kick and a very poor clearance from a lineout. The two penalties in the Scottish quarter should have been shots at goal despite the fact that we came away with 7 points. It was early in a test and we should have taken the...

On the Folau cross kick try. It was exciting and no question a masterful show of his ability in the air. However, if they had just spread the ball through the hands quickly there would have been the same result. Once again there was too much aimless kicking throughout that just gave the ball...

Timani has not been great this year for the Rebels but neither have Hodge or any other of their players. I think we really lacked grunt in our back row again and therefore the balance was off. Pocock provides a huge amount of muscle despite being a little shorter. Ditto for McMahon. I think...

I always feel the Fijians are a good pull because you know you are going to get some razzle dazzle. Thats how it was when I was growing up anyway.

Isn't this game in Sydney? You had better give it more than an hour if you want to make kick off Scrubber unless you are coming by helicopter. It is going to be a very tough game.

He was good but I think he was just a little lost at times. His defense was excellent as was his work at the breakdown. I just mean that both of them will be better for the first run and will have had a week to digest the pace of the game.

Interesting. Most of the predicted changes did not come to pass. Sio off the bench is a better idea as he has been out for a while. Back row still looks a bit light on, no more so than ours of recent years but still not what it could be. Timani must not be commanding a spot? Nabuli is an...

We will see some changes in this line up without question. It will be interesting to see where Stephen Moore stands after the weekend and how Cheiks sees his strongest front and back rows.

As stated, I have not looked at the stats but as he stood next to Bernard Foley after the tests I noticed he was exactly the same height. Point is that we are without Pocock and McMahon and it would make no sense whatsoever to go with 2 short backrowers.......... again

Im not saying he was bad. Actually he was very good but we don't need two small blokes in the back row.

I didn't look at the stats but on the after game footage when Hardwick was standing next to Foley they were the same height. I wouldn't want Bernard jumping in our lineout either.

We are so used to having a Smith/Pocock type player in the back row that secures multiple important turnovers per match. If you look at England and the ABs and the Boks they all play without the fetcher/poacher. We need to be able to do so as well. Of course when Pocock is back in the side his...

There we go. George Smith brought into the Wallaby fold to school our backrowers in the finer points of breakdown play. Very good! Hope he never does the same again for England. Obviously Cheika thought we did not contest enough at the breakdown either.

What would you have had him do differently? Cheika seemed pretty chuffed with his game and he has never been a fan

There is always a place for a good well judged pilfer but I reckon going for one at every breakdown is a waste of energy and draws a considerable number of penalties. Our back row on the weekend was not balanced. If Pocock was at 7 it would have been more so. Higgers and Hanigan are pretty...

Wallabies v Fiji, 3pm Sat 10th June, AAMI Park, Melbourne

Yes, back row lacked balance although Hanigan went OK, especially for a debut. He was a little timid in contact at times. Sio to start at LH, Arnold in place of Carter and Timani in place of Hanigan to stiffen up the pack a little. Carter on bench with Hardwick. Centre pairing went well, as...

Wallabies v Fiji, 3pm Sat 10th June, AAMI Park, Melbourne

I would guess that Cheikas 2017 plan is to have the finishing side the equal of, or even better than, the starting side. Makes sense. Generally the first 15-20 minutes of a test match is very evenly contested and a wash on the scoreboard. In last couple of years we have seen many tests slip away...

Could have a niggle and is being saved for Scotland or could just be Cheika taking the piss?
