Scotland are very good. Sturdy up front, creative in the backs and their defense was excellent. They play really exciting rugby. Hope they go very well in the 6 Ns.

Ridiculous, he also went into a couple more rucks at the death going off his feet leading with that big right shoulder to clear out. He could easily have been marched. He looks as though he is trying to hurt opposition players illegally. Is that unfair comment? I really don't think we need that...

We are lucky to have two experienced test class half backs. Phipps is the one that can really have an influential impact on the game from the bench by changing the pace. It makes sense to play them like this.

I just do not understand the need for Skelton in any 23 for the Wallabies. It puts more pressure on our back row in the lineout. Surely Douglas or Simmons are the ticket with the set piece most likely playing a big role this week? With the elevation of Arnold and Coleman and some other excellent...

It would be wise for Cheika to start both Foley and Phipps again this week with a view to introducing Cooper and Genia early in the second half if all is going well. We need to build their(Foley and Phipps) combination with Hodge and TK leading into the Ireland and England games. Foley also...

Wales vs Australia, 5 November 2016, (1:30am 6 November AEDT) @ Millenium Stadium

I watched the replay(again) last night paying particular attention to following Lopeti Timani. Timani has a very good rugby head on his shoulders. He picked his involvements well. In particular there were two bone jarring try saving tackles when Wales were putting a lot of pressure on our line...

I'm not sure that I agree with that. Naiyaravoro is an obvious talent with the ball in hand but even the Boks were able to exploit him by putting the ball behind him. He also has ball security issues with the way he carries and offloads "over the top". Morohan looks in scintillating form as well...

I thought that Speight did a lot of work off the ball in breakdowns and made some excellent tackles way behind the Welsh ad-line. He could easily have been on the end of that try instead of Hodge. He is finding his way back into form.

Timani plays very tight and in close so maybe we can afford to have Holloway or someone like Higgers at 6(or 8 with Timani at 6) who plays a little wider a la Read. Higgers wide running and lineout ability would be nice. Hooper would have to play a little narrower as well.

Maybe he never was, just did not have any direction. It was always obvious to see he could put on big hits and was strong like his brother. It is no surprise that he looks like he belongs at test level. He was not flaky enough to take up one of the many offers he had to play OS and instead...

Not sure I understand why you don't favour him FB. He is your type of player. He does his core jobs well with a high work rate and he is big. Nothing flashy about him at the moment but I suspect we will see more from him with ball in hand as time passes.

Thats pretty hard on DHP. He broke the line at will and his taking of the high ball was Folau 2014 stuff. He was in everything.

Big boys who seek out the physical stuff. Nice to see Timani take a lineout at 2. They also have skills, all 3.

QC (Quade Cooper) has all the tools required but is sometimes lacking in the top two inches and at times in heart/commitment. He may still come around. He certainly seems to be making better decisions more consistently these days and he still has the pass and the vision.

Foley gets a really tough time. He is our most complete 5/8 since Larkham. He gives 100% in all aspects of the game and is passionate about the jersey. I am an unabashed QC (Quade Cooper) fan because of his vision and ability but there are a lot of times when Bernard Foley is absolutely the bloke for the job.

Game will really open up in the second half when Cooper and Naivalu enter the cauldron. Cheika putting faith in both Hodge and Speight after some basic errors last time out. That is his way of bringing the best out of players. Hard to complain about Pocock being included in your starting side.

A lot of caps in that starting side with a couple of newbies on the bench. Looks pretty strong.

If the Welsh lineout has been further compromised by the loss of AWJ then all the more reason to go in with the strongest possible lineout so that we dominate that facet. Games are won and lost at the lineout more often than anywhere else.
