    Waratahs 2017

So the Waraths desperately need locks for next (Skelton leaving and Mumm still around). What are the potential solutions: - Bring Kane Douglas back? - Caydern Neville can't get a start for the Reds - Tom Staniforth from the Brumbies, struggling to get gametime and would be a cheap option -...

    The Wallabies Thread

I'm waiting for one of those Brumbies fans to step in and correct us on the omission of Kuridrani at 13 as well..

    The Wallabies Thread

To be fair, Hunt generally defends in the 10 or 12 channel (10 now that Quade is back) and many of the Reds' set plays now have Hunt (with Kerevi) as direct runners DP as a wider ball playing options- so it wouldn't really be a huge stretch for him to play 12. Hunt's natural position to me is as...

    Rebels v Reds, Sat 13 May @ 7:45pm

100% - I was a completely neutral spectator but that game was enthralling. Yes there were mistakes and missed tackles but that's what happens with fatigue and when teams are willing to use the football.

    Rebels v Reds, Sat 13 May @ 7:45pm

Fuck there are a lot of depressing people in this forum- that was an entertaining game of football. Both teams played with attacking intent and there was passion involved- one of the better Aussie derbies this year.

    Waratahs 2017

Disagree with Holloway and Hanigan. Holloway's traditional strength has been ball running partciuliarly in the wider channels and Hanigan has a bit of abrasiveness to win collisions.

    Paris 7s - 13 and 14 May

Comparing the current Aussie 7s team to the last team that won a series event in 2012, that the strength of the team hasn't improved like expected with the new pathway of an olympic sport. We're not attracting better athletes or high profile players (excluding Henry Speight last year) 2012...

    Brumbies 2018

How exactly has Kuridrani showed that he is the premier 13 in this country and better than Kerevi? It wasn't against the Blues, Rebels or Hurricanes. An ability to use his big frame to score close range tries doesn't make him so. I thikn Kerevi has a bigger upside, just needs to fix his reads in...

Reds vs Waratahs - 29th April RD 10

I think there needs to be some onus on Naiyavoro to lift his work rate and present himself as an inside option to Foley or even as the lead podrunner for the halfback, currently he's not doing this. I'm going to have to bring up his limitations- but his defensive reads and rugby nous are just...

Reds vs Waratahs - 29th April RD 10

It doesn't seem like he's selecting the team based on form (or talent to be fair) - otherwise Wells, Naiyavoro and Mumm would be nowhere near there.

He's played what 3 games on the wing? Folau at the moment would be wasted on the wing as he's one of the few players currenly in Australian rugby who can beat a man one on one and set up his outside men.

Swap Hunt with Kerevi and I think you're pretty much there- we need another ball player to assist Foley. Or move Hunt to Fullback and FOlau to wing to keep the 2Ks.

    The Wallabies Thread

The more I think about it, Hunt should be selected at 15 but defend at 12 like he's doing at the Reds currently- he's bsaically a Horne- improvement

    The Wallabies Thread

I think if the Waratahs had a strong 15, then Folau would be playing 13 and its also the position he wants to play. Defensively he's underrated and watching him he also does a lot of good things at 13 that don't get noticed like running an incisive unders line in an 'OI' move.

    The Wallabies Thread

This is a repost but I wouldn't mind some commentary: 9. Genia 10. Foley 11. Speight 12. Karmichael Hunt 13. Folau 14. ? 15. DHP Could even move DHP to wing, Karmichael to fullback and Beale at 12, with Hunt defending at 12.

    The Wallabies Thread

I honestly think that Hunt would be the best option at 12 currently- his defense is on par with Horne's but attack is obviously stronger. It was at 12 where he impressed as a schoolboy too.

    9. Genia 10. Foley 11. Speight 12. Karmichael Hunt 13. Folau 14. ? 15. DHP Potentially move Khunt to 15, DHP to the wing but need to find a 12. Folau is a better defender than Kerevi and more dynamic than Kuridrani.

    Shute Shield 2017

Bernard Foley and Phipps' career are basically identical interestingly.

    Shute Shield 2017

I think we need to end this career comparison but it seems to me that Reece Hodge has been fast-tracked much quicker than Phipps ever was. The only 'adversity' he's gone through was major injury that most players go thorugh in their career. Phipps didn't make any rep teams as a junior (at least...
