    Reds v Waratahs Round 5 - 2016 Super Rugby

Was the game really meant to be a gimme/ bp win with the well known strength discrepancies between the two front rows. The game basically proved what everyone already knew- Tahs poor scrum/ Reds terrible attack. A loss to the Reds is what really would have put Gibson under the pump

    Reds v Waratahs Round 5 - 2016 Super Rugby

Gibson will be under more pressure for winning a local derby that has historically always been a close affair? Winning is always the easiest way to deflate pressure.

    Waratahs 2016

My theory with Carraro is that he hadn't had let anyone down yet or had a poor enough game to justify dropping him- basically until now. I don't think his 'consistency' is enough to continually start him over other players like Stewart, Kellaway or Robinson who have greater upside as well as...

    Shute Shield 2016

The reality is that the ARU has to pay for the SS to be televised and that's not the case for NRC- there's the simple justification for its existence.

    Shute Shield 2016

You've actually never once answered my questions- I have not once mentioned NRC or S18.

    Shute Shield 2016

WIlsonmate, just to play Devil's Advocate if SS is so special/ tribal and connects to people, why does it not make any money? And if you're solution is that it doesn't receive funding well then that completely misses the point.

    Shute Shield 2016

Wilsonmate I think you are entirely missing the point of what TWAS is saying- there is nothing inherently special about the Shute Shield clubs. That is, if they ceased to exist it would not be the end of rugby, the subdistrict clubs would rise and become the next level. Good rugby players would...

    Brumbies vs Waratahs - Round 2, 2016

The whole melee was started by a high swinging arm by the Moore- I'm sure Latu wasn't the only who threw a punch (Louisi either)

Force vs Rebels Round 1, 2016

Is Hodge really a wing? I'm not sure has great pace/ evasiveness but he does have a monster boot.

Force vs Rebels Round 1, 2016

Get rid of Marcel Brache on the wing and your backline is pretty much there!

    Reds 2016

The hype around Goromaru is a little ridiculous. Apart from scoring a try from support against the Sprongboks, his highlight package is all goalkicking. I can't see him setting Super Rugby alight with his limited running game.

    Waratahs 2016

Buddy it was a pure observation. Obviously the fact he could throw a 20m perfect spiral pass stood out more than adequate scrimmaging- I'm not disputing anything else.

    Waratahs 2016

Obviously the primary job of THP is not ball-playing but a point of difference is always valuable

    Waratahs 2016

The most impressive part of his play was his passing game at first receiver with the second man play. Hopefully the Waratahs utilise this skill.

    Aussie Player Exodus

The addition of Mitchell might have added an additional kicking option (not a fantastic one mind you, Mitchell does have a very high tendency to shank his drop punts) but it also added a player who has a propensity to make errors and he seemed to make a fair few in the WC. Granted there were the...

    Western Force - 2016

Honest question but what does Marcel Brache contribute to the team that any half decent shute shield outside back does not? Wouldn't a better option be to develop an Australian player than import someone of his standard?

Why is Marto employed as a commentator?

Or is it that he doesn't really understand the modern game compared to the version he played?

    Waratahs 2015

Basically he's saying that because Halfpenny is less athletic/ physically gifted than Israel he perceives him as an inferior player. He might not have the gifts of a Jarryd Hayne or Greg Ingis but he seems to have uncanny rugby nous.

Who has starred in the NRC

That's the response I was trying to avoid I guess- I don't think Kellaway's form has been as strong as say Dargeville, McKenzie or Veainu who seem to have more impact around the park. By all means the guy is having a fantastic season for someone first year out of school but I think selecting him...

Who has starred in the NRC

This might be an unpopular question but is Kellaway really starring that much? I know people are going to say yes he finishes every opportunity that he is given (which is true) but how much is he really creating? The guys not exactly making line breaks nor is he the Eagle's go to player in the...
