    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

The only scholarships would be academic and potentially one for a son of an old boy. The school definitely did not seek out talented rugby players and offer specific sport scholarships.

Australia Vs Argentina, September 13, Gold Coast

I think this comment is actually fair enough, yes he was great in the air and was very mobile/skilled but his actual ball running ability was pretty average. In the modern game he would struggle to make an impact at all with ball in hand.

    Reds 2015

I understand that the Force have to pay overs to attract players who have to move from their base/ family but they literally do not have one top profile player. The difference between the amounts spent on salary between Reds/ Waratahs and the Force would be humunguous.

    Reds 2015

Is the reason that the Reds able to sign Hunt, JOC (James O'Connor), Cooper and Genia mainly dependant on the 3rd party support? Compared to the Force who don't really have one top profile player, is it due to the fact the Reds have more corporate support and dollars to throw at players?

An easts dominated team? They have 3 players starting and 2 on the bench.

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

I think I've had this argument with you before but your bias towards Nic White is starting to become more apparent but at least most people are starting to see through it. The problem with White is that unless he is behind a dominant pack he is fairly predictable and persists with his kicking...

    Galloping Greens

Isn't Kuki Maafi a capped Tongan player? If so there is really any benefit including him when there would probably be a comparable Australian eligible player?

I suppose I was expecting an Anton La Vin/ Damon Anderson over Malakai Watene-Zelezniak or Misieli Sinoti but again Easts form has been pretty bloody average.

NSW Country - - - NRC Official Team Thread

Fair point but it seems that a number of these selections were predetermined and not really chosen on form- eg this team may as well have been picked at the beginning of the year. It may not be surprising though seeing as Easts/ Randwick didn't exactly set the world on fire this year. Have the...

NSW Country - - - NRC Official Team Thread

So basically the majority of the Easts/ Randwick players didn't actually play the majority of the season and most are just parachuted0 in Super rugby players eg Tuatara- Morrison, Stubbs, Dellit

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

Now that the test series is over can we finally comment on how poor that French team really was. They showed some spirit in the second test in defence but never looked like breaking the line the whole series. I really believe that most Super sides would have beaten them

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

There was a period during the early 2000s where Waverley had imports in a number of years. Players like Eddie Paea, Anthony Cherrington, Mikey Cummins all were there but ended up at Matraville Sports after scholarships were aborted.

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

So So because Cranbrook is employing teachers from schools that used to import, they will do the same thing? Not going to happen. Traditionally Waverley have been the worst culprits over the years but Trinity have taken the mantle recently, they have a huge emphasis on their swimming program.

All Blacks vs Poms - 3rd test

I'm not sure if Smith really was better over the last few years. One of Smith's most lauded qualities is that he plays like an extra flanker over the ball, Ranger is equally good in this area. Ranger can defend as well perhaps his organisation is not as strong though. I just feel the upside of...

All Blacks vs Poms - 3rd test

I really think the All Blacks missed the boat with Rene Ranger. If you guys had persisted with him and gave him some more game time at 13, I think he would be close to replacing Smith there and at least would have a succession plan. A Nonu/ Ranger centre combination would be a lot more...

All Blacks vs Poms - 3rd test

Brown the best full back in the world? Ask any team who they would rather face- Folau, Brown, Le Roux or Smith/ Dagg and the answer is going to be Brown every single time..

Wallabies v France - June 14 Etihad Stadium

The kick would be worse than White's too

    CAS Rugby 2014

I suspect Cranbrook would be very grateful to Waverley as well

Wallabies v France - June 14 Etihad Stadium

No doubt the team were under instruction to kick more especially with the static ball. My main criticism was the few opportunities where the Wallabies managed turnover ball with a disorganised French defence he tended to kick it. Surely the potential risk/reward profile favours running the ball...

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

I really don't understand the love that Kuridrani gets sometimes, all he really is a big rig with a palm. He's not particularly dangerous or elusive with the ball in hand. I'd be interested to see Waratahs midfield starting the next game (10/12/13) to see how they handle the increased...
