    Australia v Italy, Suncorp Stadium, 24th June 2017 @ 3:00pm

Definitely no other options with DHP and two ex- afl players in the backline.

Dave- going to the gym is not unique to the Wallabies, the All Blacks and British Lions would be doing a comparable amount of gym work (they even post this on Facebook ;) ). Modern day S&C programs know that there must be a minimum amount of gym work to maintain the strength levels generally...

Australia v Scotland, 3:00pm 17 June Sydney Football Stadium

The problem actually was that we over-committed close to the ruck (a signature of Grey's defensive pattern) and left ourselves exposed on the flank a couple of times. It would have made more sense to not compete at the ruck and wait for Scotland to make mistakes- they weren't going to offer a...

Kuridrani is 6ft 3 and over 110kg- how hard should it be for him to get over the advantage line on first phase? If his job is to take the initial hit up and lead the defensive line (he doesn't btw- Karmichael does), then we might as well buy any semi-decent edge back rower from rugby league...

Brumby bias aside- Moore was actually quite effective when he came on- made a number of good decisions with the ball on whether to pass or hold and actually got over the advantage line. Kuridrani? If he's the best outside centre in a country full of athletes we are in trouble- he was ponderous...

Taking a cynical view- it might be purely to lock him in for elegibility purposes..

I think you could have probably summed that up saying he has a lack of rugby- nous and game awareness instead of being incredibly stupid. I agree he's a quality athlete- but what are his skills beyond athleticism?

Agreed- he's the most one dimensional of all of them (and they're all relatively one dimensional)

Wallabies v Fiji, 3pm Sat 10th June, AAMI Park, Melbourne

Cooper was on for all of 10 minutes, found space for his outside men yet wasn't great? Might be some anti-Cooper bias there. I'm not sold on Speight as a Wallaby, he's never owned his positon and it seems his physicality which might work at Super level just won't be enough at international...

    Waratahs 2018

I don't understand the need to sign a 'defensive' centre like it's a binary thing'- we should be signing good players and good players can attack and defend. Honestly if we got rid of Taqele then defense out wide wouldn't be an issue- his decision making and mobility is horrendous.

    The Wallabies Thread

Agreed Duncan P should be brought into the side though- Even if he is pretty green, he's already better player than Godwin currently.

    The Wallabies Thread

Agreed he is nowhere near as dynamic as he once was (has he broken a tackle in 3 years?) but to call his defence 'porous' is an exaggeration when he is still a better defender than 90% of Australian centres/ backs. One thing that Horne does give to a team is enthusiasm- most of his teammates...

Chiefs v Waratahs, 3pm AEST Sat 3rd June, FMG Stadium, Waikato

I've been a long- time lurker/ minimal poster but I remember back in the day when there was actual interest in the 'Tahs on thie site- now we're lucky to get 4 pages a game!

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

If Jordie Barrett has ursuped McKenzie then the guy has the right to be a little aggrieved. Dmac has been the most dynamic Super Rugby player for the last 2 years. He may not be 6-3/110kg but who would you rather have in your team?

Good hands?! I don't think he's even capable of passing.

Chiefs v Waratahs, 3pm AEST Sat 3rd June, FMG Stadium, Waikato

I dislike singling out individual players but Naiayavaro is the worst wing in the competition. His defence and general skillset is just not up to par- why do they keep persisting.

Wallabies v Fiji, 3pm Sat 10th June, AAMI Park, Melbourne

I'm genuinely curious why Hodge is considered the best option (after Beale) for the 12 position. He doesn't offer the second ball playing option that Cheika likes, he's not playing there for the Rebels and he's not in good form either. I'm guessing it's the big (but a bit slow) boot? He's a very...

    Highlanders v Waratahs - Saturday 27 May - 5.30pm

I agree with the majority of this post but I do think McDuling is an adequate reserve second row- he made a couple of strong busts in general play. One thing I can't fathom is how Naiyaravoro continually gets selected. The one try he scores per game from 20 metres out does not make up the for...

    Shute Shield 2017

They need to actually play rugby to be stars?

    Shute Shield 2017

All these fly halves (Mason, McIntyre, Deegan, Hegarty etc)are all of the same mould. They all play deep and lateral with minimal running threat and struggle with 'ad-lib' footy (they can quick though) I think their success is due to their suitability in the overly structured football that is...
