Agree with you on Charalambous, Tranquility. He was the OZ schools hooker in 05 if I remember correctly and was rated above Hansen before he picked up an injury a couple of years back. Very dynamic and inspirational hooker with a great work ethic. If he can remain injury free, he would...

Correct on Walker Noddy. I heard that Vaalu is going back to Sunnybank and that Rex Tapuai will be joining his brother there. Jake Schaatz is also a Sunnybank boy. From the Academy, Slipper is Gold Coast, Lance at Uni, Shipperley at Brothers. From last years Aussie schoolboys, Gill and Lucas...

    QLD Reds 2010

I hear Schaatz has admirers in the new coaching team and is training the house down. Those who have seen this guy play a lot of football will tell you his on field work rate and general skills are pretty special for a big guy. He also offers another option in the lineout. With Leroy carrying a...

    QLD Reds 2010

It really will be an interesting year for the Reds. The following is probably a rehash of assorted opinion but I will post anyway. As others have said the Backs should be fine. Halves fully stocked with Genia and Kingi, and Lucas as an emergency. No doubt about it, the loss of Barnes is a big...

    Wackiest Position Changes

If injuries best the Force inside backs in 2010, then Pocock to 12?

    Reds v Tahs Trial

That's more than a fair side. Will Barnes be ready?

    Western Force 2010

Some decently sized backs in that lot. Looking at the frontrow, Dunning appears to be a very good pickup. Be interesting to see how the scrum goes...

Nor were Churchie 06, but neither matched TSS 07. The other measure of excellence is how the national team did against NZ and others. 07 ahead on that score.

Reckon you're right about Taps TOCC. The other vulnerability in the next few years will be Digby, another Melbourne boy.

    Wallaby Winger of the Decade

Precisely. When they don't get an opportunity to finish, they then get judged on their ability to defend, clean up etc..jobs that are not a wingers chief role. That is probably why Hynes has so much currency these days.

    Reds v Tahs Trial

I aint the coach but I would be playing Turinui and Toua off the bench given their long lay offs. Also, from a backs perspective, what about Connor and Davies, and even Lance? In the forwards I hope to see Shaw, Schaatz, Slipper and Anae get a run.

Point of order! This is a Force thread guys.

Quite right Lee. Morahan and Tomane from 2007, Price in 2008 and Situata and Sautia (or is it Feaui?) all looked like potential S14 players as schoolboys, and the last one named will still be at school next year! Tomane has already crossed over but I cant see the Reds hanging on to all of the...

W 2010, with that kind of intimate knowledge I find it hard to believe you would wear a blue jersey! You will obviously recall that the TSS backline had Swanepoel (OZ player) at half, Lance (OZ A 12 and captain) at 10, Morahan (now a Qld Red) on one wing, Tapuai (OZ 2 years) at 12, and...

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Fine was one of those rare kids who could have been a dual internatioinal at school. At schoolboy level, and as a fullback, he had Corey Brown ahead of him in rugby for NSW and a kid who is playing Premiers for the Tigers, ahead of him in league. definite potential.
