    Reds v Tahs Trial

Noddy, Enjoyed the match report on the Blog page. Thanks for that. A few of my own (mainly Red) observations on the game: The game was played at quite a high standard considering it was a first trial match, and there was a good level of enthusiasm and committment from all the players. The...

    Reds v Tahs Trial

If I remember correctly Daley was given the award for best trainer/team man by both players and coaches during an off season camp. Obviously the right attitude, and justly rewarded. Good for him..

Hope they stack the Academy with homegrown products. Victoria has produced some decent schoolboys in the last few years and it would send the right kind of message locally.

Is Mike Hercus still at the Sunshine Coast? I hope Turinui and Braid have some game time with them this year. Would like to see them competitive. GoldCoast will be interesting. I thought their forwards went okay last year but the backline will definitely miss the Tapuai brothers.

Thought I would just cut and paste Straightshooters entry from the general Reds thread here: Hear tell that Jake Schatz is playing a full game on Saturday - 6 in first half and 8 in second. Sounds like some youngsters are getting solid hit-outs and the chance to impress. Great to see some...

Maybe he had two bad games? I've seen him a couple of times and he looked pretty handy. Hopefully he gets some exposure playing with Sunnybank this year and generates some interest from the Rebels.

Reds v Tahs : Opening game of the season

That's where the Vintage Reds lunch is so you'd expect a good number of players from both sides to be there as a Promo. The theme of the lunch is to get past legends from both sides up on stage having a bit of a chin wag and debate so should be a bit of fun, despite the punitive entry fee.

I think purely and simply, capitalising on good starts and finishing off games successfully.

Mrphy and Lance are different styles of 5/8 and there is a lot to like about both these players. Murphy is a sharper attacker and Lance the better defender. It will be interesting how they go in the trials if given a chance. Has Hynes the passing and kicking skills to be a No. 10? It will be...

All the bolded bits are somewhere near the money. From what I hear most clubs are pretty financially strapped so whatever money that is around (whether from the club or a generous benefactor) is focused on one or two. Uni has the advantage of being able to offer academic enticements but I think...

Does anyone know whether Leroy Houston is still at Norths? I did hear that he also was going to Sunnybank. On paper a big loss for Norths but I have been less than impressed with his work ethic at club level. Any Norths supporters on these boards? They had a credible 6th placed finish last year...

Doesn't the club season start a little later this year? This will mean we will see a lot more of the S14 guys in club games, which can't be a bad thing. Will also mean that Sunnybank are going to be nothing short of awesome! Think of this backline: 9. Kingi 10. Lucas 11. Semiti Tela (?) 12...

Reds v Tahs : Opening game of the season

Riddler, I recommend Barolo's on the corner of Felix and Mary Streets. Great menu and a wine list that complements the food nicely. You won't be disappointed, or at least I never have been. Oh, and for those making the trek north, there is a Vintage Reds lunch on Friday 12th, $140 a head.

Not to mention Lucas (no relation to the other guys), and Toby White, who I thought had a great first season in the top grade last year. There's another handy winger whose name I can't recall. Noddy - if Walsh is at Easts we may see Jack Mullins at 9, where he spent some time last year. Size...

Re: The "Trial" Festival of hate! no pretty sure its Ben Tapuai, I think Kimani Situati is actually with the 7's training with them at the moment And running at 12. He may well come into the running for that spot during the season...a very handy player.

Re: The "Trial" Festival of hate! Who's the guy obscured by Quade Cooper in the pic? Good to see QC (Quade Cooper) on the training paddock, and I hope he gets a run in the trials just to get his mind back on things rugby. And no..I am not inviting opinion about his off-field drama... On Morgs, I understand...
