    Waratahs 2011

Lee, is the 30 man limit and 3 rookies an actual requirement, and if so, whose? Is is ARU or SANZAR? I thought there was some flexibility around the 30 man limit. A few years ago most squads were 32 but they were cut back in the last couple of years because of financial constraints. If what...

    Dear Greg Growden

Yeah, saw that over the weetbix this morning and thought wtf? It's not like it's a small photo either. Surely Hodgson could sue for the damage to his reputation.

You're not going to keep/sign too many players when they don't know who the coaching staff are going to be.

    Wallabies front row

RedsHappy: in response to your comments: I think Noriega is probably OK. The amount of improvement in the scrum in a week is testament to that. The problem is that we are now suffering for years of front row neglect in the Eddie Jones era. As a result of that we have no decent 25-28 yo props...

    Wallaby/ Player Sightings

Often see Tom Bowman (Tamworth), Tim Gavin (Gunnedah), Dave Carter (Quirindi)and Bill McKidd (Barraba) at local rugby games in Central North. They all have some involvement with their local clubs and are usually on for a beer and a chat. They don't make 'em as tough as that lot anymore.

    Wallabies vs England, Sydney

Couldn't agree more, Riddler. Except a Uni win against Easts would have been nice. The other thing about club rugby is you can go back to whatever clubhouse and invariably have a few cold ones with S14 players and current and past Wallabies who are also there. Having said that, the corporate...

Wallabies player of the match VS England (2) @ Homebush

    3. Pocock (worked his arse off) 2. Cooper (had a go despite his space and time being cut down) 1. Sharpe (not because I think he played great, but more that everyone else was worse)

    Shute Shield 2010

Naza, I was at the game and it was a classic case of a champion team beating a team of champions. Easts were very good today and more hungry than Uni. They deserved their win. McKibbin was outstanding, the defence in the centres was excellent and Shaw outplayed the White Orc. I was also very...

    Player Nick Names

Baxter was always "Scrumface" before the Fuse incident I have never heard Ben McCalman called Wolfman. He has always been "Big Dog" or "Dogs"

    Wallabies vs England, Sydney

Interesting that Daley has the most support in the poll at the top of the page. Even higher than TPN (possibly influenced by the fact that TPN is a hypothetical only). I am even more surprised that there are 5 people other than me that would pick Tilse at LHP. Must be more good judges around...

    Shute Shield 2010

If Cowan's smart he'll pull a hammy in the warm up. He's no match for Baxter.

    Shute Shield 2010

Yeah, maybe Travis Church is the answer to Australia's scummaging woes. Can play both sides, AT THE SAME TIME. I'll back Palmer against Blake. If Blake can make an impact on that SD front row, he is a good buy for the Rebels. Phil Waugh back for Uni so Shaw might be in for a tough day. I...

    Wallabies vs England, Sydney

I'm not voting if Holmes is not a LHP option.

    Wallabies vs England, Sydney

I think it's a contractual thing the Wallabies have with ANZ Stadium. If they play tests in Sydney they play there. The only time they play at the SFS is non test matches eg NZ Maori or Baa Baas games. On the Uni back row thing, I think McCutcheon and McCalman are both fresh reserves. The 2...

Poll : Should the Wallabies revert to the old guard in the front row?

So far I have proposed about 5 differing and conflicting opinions about this. Lucky I'm not coaching. However I have felt all along that Baxter was the best THP in the Aus S14 teams and is playing better now than he ever has. Just as "if you're good enough you're old enough" the opposite "if...

IRB U/20 Tournament and Oz Squad

Nathan Charles had a pro academy contract but was "loaned" by the Brums to the Force when they were desperate. At the time he was well down the pecking order at the Brums, playing off the bench for the Runners. Technically he is still contracted to the Brumbies until Oct 31. He has a full...

    Club Players with potential

RG seems to imply that Alcock was plucked out of clubland obscurity for the Cheetahs game, but he actually had a rookie contract with the tahs for this year and had played all the junior tahs games prior to the Cheetahs game. Seymour is also in the tahs academy but doesn't yet have a full...

    Wallabies front row

thatguy, well spotted. I suppose the difference is that in my first post I was proposing what I thought should happen and in the second one I was trying to 2nd guess Deans. I think Daley has got a lot of learning to do, but I admire his pluck and there aren't any realistic LHP options in the...
