    Semi 2: Stormers vs Tahs

Have to agree with you there PB. I mightn't have agreed with all his decisions but he was pretty clear to the players and most importantly he was consistent. Certainly better than the other referee Lawrence and less controversial than skid Marks and Steve "tough stickers" Walsh. Your boys...

    Shute Shield 2010

Steady on Wilbur, that's no way to open your batting. As a Uni supporter (and a fairly rabid one at that) I am happy to admit that Eastwood won and won easily. I am sure Bruce would feel the same way about it. The points margin is hard to argue against. Having said that, there's something wrong...

G&GR Waratahs Player of the Match (v Stormers)

I agree. Kepu still has not looked convincing at scrum time and I have never seen him dominate like Tilse did last night. Tilse has the added advantage of being able to cover both sides and plays a lot tighter than Kepu as well.

    Wallaby Squad Predictions 2010!

That try was scored by the time he got to Beale. The bloke who didn't help his chances was Palmer. He left an enormous hole for the initial break. Once he was through that, there was no stopping him. And I did notice Beale pull off another tackle on a rampaging Burger who attempted to run over...

G&GR Waratahs Player of the Match (v Stormers)

    3. Baxter. Fantastic at scrum time, did a lot of defence and a lot of cleaning out. 2. Waugh. He does so many little things well in tight situations, and so often. The penalty for not releasing was garbage. 1. TPN. He was TPN. Great to see Tilse prove once again that he can dominate at this level.

    Semi 2: Stormers vs Tahs

Agree 100% Scarfy. Can't whinge about backs when the forwards couldn't get em on the front foot. What looks like aimless one out running is an attempt to get over the advantage and get quick recycle. It just wasn't allowed to happen. Stormers were brilliant in defence and around the fringes...

    Shute Shield 2010

Wasn't at the Uni game but am informed that they were well beaten as the score would suggest. These young guys are learning some tough lessons and Uni is being severely tested with so many S14, Aus 7s and Aus U/20s unavailable at the moment. All those who complain about Uni's success seldom...

    Shute Shield 2010

Great name for a Gordon player. Reminds of the day one Uni wag yelled out to NFJ: "hit em with your hyphen, Nick"

    Waratahs Camp

They always take 4 props when they go on the South Africa tour during the rounds, which is either 2 or 3 games. It would be reasonable to plan for 2 games in SA this trip.

    Semi 2: Stormers vs Tahs

Would have liked to see Tilse start and Palmer on bench. Hopefully Thomo won't be needed.

    Club Players with potential

Agree with you there, Bruce. Both look like they have big off seasons. I know the Force showed a bit of interest in Carter and he trained over there in Jan for a couple of weeks. Good pedigree, too. He's the son of former Wallaby 6 Dave Carter. Ben Roberts is a good enough hooker to keep Nathan...

    Brumbies 2011

Sievert is back playing good footy for Southern Districts after a couple of years with knee trouble including at least one recon. If he lasts the season, he will definitely be worth a look. Still only about 22. Schwager was a great player at school. Played Joeys 2nds behind Sievert and still...

    Wallaby Squad Predictions 2010!

+1 While BA is at loosehead, Laurie is the best THP in the country.

    Oz S15 & Academy Squads 2011

Re: Oz S15 Squads 2011 Taumoupeau and Mafi are both excellent players who have had troubles with injury. Taumoupeau has had a shoulder recon I think so won't play for a while and Mafi injured a leg against the tahs (leading to Turner's try). Both have had a reasonable number of S14 games and...

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. He played prop in year 11 but went to 8 in year 12. I agree with Lee, from what I have seen of him he is a 6. Just tell him to go and create havoc with and without the ball. I could see him being a Rocky style player.

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. +2 and I don't think he was ever much of a scrummager, even when he was playing for Aus.

    Wallaby Squad Predictions 2010!

Yeah, got to say he passed through my mind as well. He just had enough game time recently to form a good opinion. Same could be said of Kepu, too.

    Wallaby Squad Predictions 2010!

Fair enough. Only suggested Fuse on the assumption that Weeks wasn't fit and Ma'afu was in the top side. How long does a "bent foot" take to get better, anyway?

    Wallaby Squad Predictions 2010!

LHP looks to be the problem for me in both sides. Daley is not up to it yet. He still gets monstered against the better THPs and I think scrummaging is one area where there is a big step up from S14 to Test matches. I suspect he will get there, but needs at least another year or 2. Baxter has...
