    Unsigned Super Level Players

Agree about Trist being S14 quality but unfortunately a second ACL recon on the same knee in 2 years means no one will be looking at him now. It's a shame because he has skill, a bit of size and an uncanny ability to sniff out a try. A top shelf player and a top bloke.

    Shute Shield 2010

I agree with you that the finals should be played on the best grounds. I don't agree with the tender process for allocating grounds for finals for exactly the reasons that have been put above. It makes it possible that one side will get an advantage that they may not appear to have earned. Uni...

    Shute Shield 2010

Uni trot their rock stars out onto it every home game. They don't seem to suffer too many injuries because of it.

    Shute Shield 2010

In 2009 1st grade Gordon finished 3rd and Warringah finished 6th. The elimination semi was played at Warringah's home ground. The same tendering process for semis was used. Strangely, hardly anyone seemed to notice. But when Uni are seen to get an advantage.......Let loose the dogs of war!

2010 Wallabies End of Year Tour (EOYT)

I think it is a relatively new thing and has only been going for a couple of weeks, usually on a Weds. Players are flying in to Sydney for it, though, so the ARU are obviously serious about developing some good young props. I understand that most of the contracted props outside of the regular...

    Shute Shield 2010

Blew me away, too. Can only assume it was a combination of Kepu finally being fully fit and playing on his preferred LHP side and Fairbrother playing hurt. Fairbrother is better than that.

    Shute Shield 2010

Eastwood maybe with Alexander and Robinson in, but I think Uni could handle the Souths scrum at this time of year.

    Shute Shield 2010

I missed that one. Excellent pick up for them. He'll push Kingi for a starting spot.

    Shute Shield 2010

I, for one, would be very surprised if he got any money from Uni.

    Shute Shield 2010

I don't think anyone has picked up Nick Phipps yet.

    Shute Shield 2010

Yeah, they've also got guys like Paddy Ryan, Sam Carter, Luke Jones, Pat McCutcheon, Dan Kelly and Alfi Mafi in 2s this week, and Luke Burgess is a fresh reserve.

    Shute Shield Points System

Cheers, thanks for the info. They are going to have some problems next year with guys like Tilse, Cutch, Jerry Y, Inman, Charles, Dennis and McCalman all racking up the points. Wonder how they will handle it?

    Waratahs 2011

Things are bad but I think they have managed to keep their shoes. And what about Weeks?

Dennis made his S14 debut in 2007 v Crusaders and did play mid week games for the Wobs on last year's spring tour. http://www.waratahs.com.au/Waratahs/Team/PlayerProfiles/PlayerPage/tabid/182/playerid/11/Default.aspx and Tilse made his against the Cheetahs in the same year.

I'll do a naked lap of University Oval if that happens!

    Shute Shield Points System

It's interesting that when Uni played Eastwood a couple of weeks ago with all their rock stars in except Dean Mumm and Phil Waugh they had 123 player points out of an allowed 140. I suspect Dean Mumm wouldn't attract many points because of the length of time he had been at the club, likewise...

    Brumbies 2011

Moved to Randwick this year because he couldn't get a run at Uni. Played 3rd and 2nd grade at Uni last year.

    Shute Shield 2010

1.Berrick Barnes has played at least much club rugby for Uni as KB (Kurtley Beale) has for Randwick. 2.Berrick Barnes wasn't poached from another struggling Shute Shield club, KB (Kurtley Beale) was. 3.When Berrick Barnes moved to Sydney from Qld he had to play somewhere, and I understand he is involved in tertiary study so...

    Shute Shield Points System

Is there a "father and son" rule that gives a discount to a player for the same club as his father?

    Shute Shield 2010

Lee, in my humble opinion Fairbrother is the best scrummaging THP in the Shute Shield by a fair margin. The only one who is close is Dan Palmer on a good day. He doesn't do a whole lot else, but his scrummaging is first rate. And Uni won 2s against Manly 79-0 from memory. Weird game, total...
