    Gnostic's - Wallaby Player ratings V ABs Sydney 11/09/2010

Agree that what is going on at the THP side is certainly a factor, but even his hit and engagement are nowhere near as good as last year and you can't blame the THP for that.

    Gnostic's - Wallaby Player ratings V ABs Sydney 11/09/2010

From the ref's signal Slipper was penalised for rolling his shoulder down and in. Agree that Myth frequently drops his bind and pushes off the ground at the engage, but if they start pinging that, then Robinson will be in trouble as well. It's also one of his favourite tactics. He was penalised...

MOTM 3-2-1 Wallabies vs All Blacks, Sydney

    3. Beale: When he's hot he's hot. 2. Turner: JO'C could learn a lot from this guy. 1. McCalman: BIG DOG!! Honourable mentions to Sharpe and the Rock. Sharpe's lineout and restart work was the best we have had for a long time and Rocky was creating havoc out wide and did a lot of defence.

    Sydney Uni

There's not enough room in 1st grade to run them all on and several have missed a bit through injury. Halangahu has been out all season after a shoulder recon and Alfi Mafi injures his hammy every time he plays. They have 3 S15 contracted props so one misses out, lately it's been Ryan. Luke...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championship 2010

If you talk to Br Anthony, the Joeys coach, he would tell you that they moved Kurtley back there mainly to take advantage of his ability to counter attack from kicks, rather than to shield him in defence. He was quite good defensively at school.

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

I hear on the grapevine that a lot of the older players signed by the Rebels have clauses in their contracts that say the contract is void if they are considered not fit enough to train by the contract start date on 1 Nov. That may explain why some of them have been reluctant to play Shute...

    Shute Shield 2010

I think Eastwood and a full strength Randwick could both do it. Eastwood will miss Stannard and Turner (Clth games 7s duties) if they get to the GF, however. I don't think Uni are as strong this year for one big reason. No Daniel Halangahu. He makes a huge difference at this level.

    Shute Shield 2010

Nope, but I saw him the weekend before when they were beaten 79-0 by Uni in 2s. He was one of the few having a go.

My bad, they must look alike.

    Penrith Emus

I don't mind the pro Eastwood stuff he comes out with, it's the anti-Uni stuff that gives me the irrits.

    Shute Shield 2010

Went to the Uni v Easts game today and it was very encouraging from a Uni point of view. Uni played their usual game focussing on a strong set piece. They were very good at scrum time and clearly dominated what should be a good Easts scrum with Shepherdson, Edmonds and Ofa up front. Line outs...

Spies is a pussy - Ben McCalman

Have you actually seen what he said? He is the last bloke in the world to blow his own trumpet. It's hard to get anything out of him most of the time. He was simply answering questions that were put to him.

    The Tahs 2009

No, pretty sure he was a rookie contract for 2010 only, like Coridas.

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

He certainly looks to have bulked up from that video. He was playing 3rd grade at Uni last year!!

Which clubs are the Class of 2010 going to?

Bruce, you are absolutely right. I know many players who could command much more reward elsewhere yet stay at Uni because they want to be at the club.

Spies is a pussy - Ben McCalman

He's not your Scott-Young nut case type of abrasive player. He's just a big tough kid from the country who doesn't say much and loves whacking people. When he plays at Uni and I am watching with someone who is not a regular Uni spectator I always say "watch no 6. Sooner or later he will whack...

    The Tahs 2009

I don't think McCutcheon had a full contract in 2009. He was academy until signed to a full contract this year. Coridas was signed on a rookie for 2010. I think he was academy in 2009 Al Campbell was at the Brumbies in 09 wasn't he?

    The Tahs 2009

Damien Fitzpatrick was there as well. I think initially on an academy contract but upgraded during the year as there were a few injuries and he got a few starts.

I'll back Big Dog. He is the goods.

Isn't Owen contracted to the Brumbies? At least pro Academy
