Something evident in the first 20+ mins on Saturday was the enthusiasm from Souths - they were yahooing and back slapping at every break in play. Wicks were very quiet in comparison. Wicks did well to hang in the forward battle considering the scrummaging lesson they were getting.
Agree with the above, poor Hughes looked lost. Metcher had a field day.
Having those 3 forwards withdraw would hurt any side.
Backs were good when the pigs went forward.
Looked up the Two Dad's second rower. Ex Kiwi by way of Souths in QLD, Western Force and most recently Ireland. Thought he went well given first up start. Added some body size to the scrum at least. Hanigan will be good with 15 or so kegs on him.
They have to find a spot for A Kellaway to start, he is serious class. Dont like to be critical of players but Charlie Hughes is definately not up to 1st or 2nd grade standard.
Hanigan actually did some really good things around the field but cant help but think his lack of size effected us at scrum time. on one side of the scrum we had Goodbody and Hanigan both would be struggling to be 100kilos.
Need a big unit like harris in there behind goodbody
not that we are assured a top 6 by any means but isnt Faleafa leaving before the end of the season? Surely Harris has done enough to earn a shot, would be nice to another Randwick Junior who played three years in first grade colts given a go anyway.Scrum will look better with Faleafa in the 2nd row alongside Eden-Whaitiri and Asa back in the front row.
