    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Ref could just as easily pinged Wallabies.

The fundamental problem with Australian Rugby

The Wallabies are the distant No. 2 team in the world. We have the skills. Over the last decade, NZ have had the best player in the game (McCaw), the best 10 (Carter) and since 2004, they have had a consistently strong front five among the in the game. That's why they have beaten the Wallabies...

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

The Wallabies were abject in Murrayfield and played dumb rugby. It doesn't negate the fact the Scotland are a poor quality team who couldnt win a single game in their last 6Ns tournament. Prior to that, they could only win one. Deans has no excuses if the Wallabies are beaten by a lousy team.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

Ella was great to look at.. Had a great running game and a fine short passing game. Johns had that plus an outstanding kicking game, a huge defense and was probably the best passer of a ball I've seen (Bernie being the best passer I have seen while in full flight)

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

That side should crush Scotland. I don't care if they play the 2011 ABs the morning of the game, the Wallabies should back up comfortably and beat a piss poor Scotland who'd finish low in a Pacific Rim tournament. We could have Phil Kearns at 10 and it would make little difference. Scotland...

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Scotland are the worst team in the 6Ns. They cant score and the Wallabies will be superior from 1-15. Grey at lock looks like a very promising players but that's about it. Hogg at 15 got some raps but he is inconsistent at the basics while good open field runner. The Wallabies should take them...

If it's really this simple, then I am probably more impressed with Deans than at any point in his Wallaby tenure.

Gnostic, I get where you are coming from but I really think he was a superb player when he left to play with Leinster. O'Driscoll says he was the best player he has ever played with and he played with quite a few god 'uns on 3 Lions Tours etc. I'm frustrated that he didn't produce the goods...

    2012 IRB Junior World Championship

Bruce, thanks for that. Unsupervised lifting? Minimal risk of injury? Efficacy of free weights (vs cables etc.) There isn't a high school gym or club who wouldn't want such equipment. Surprised I haven't seen more of it about My own bias (and I recognize it as such), is for more explosive...

    2012 IRB Junior World Championship

Very interesting.... if a little too much veranacular jargon.. This made me wince "This would thereby create an adaptation to appropriate metabolic systems in addition to duplicating joint velocity and angular movement associated to his positional requirements on field." I know I'm veering...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

I completely agree. He had extraordinary vision and could put players through the finest of gaps that I doubt anyone could have seen. He was brilliant; nobody could play the flat line attack like him. On the field, he had everything including being a ruthless competitor and leader.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

He "did not have the ticker" for it?! Riiiiiiiigggt. He chose to stick with the sport in which he had made a very good living and took the offer of a guaranteed gig in TV if he remained in league. Like most professional athlete's whose career is winding down, he took the best offer.

    Heineken European Cup 2012

A comfortable win for Leinster although Ulster really were a disappointing outfit; they had some 20yr old at 10 who really wasnt up to it at all and their pack was on the back foot all day. O'Brien played well but he is no fetcher. He is a good ball runner but he is 6 1/2, not a 7. Schmidt...

    Michael Cheika

It's a good question but Cheika dramatically adjusted Leinster's playing style and approach from when he started off with David Knox. In the early going they were throwing the ball all over the place (see here ), but then got crushed by Munster on their way to a HEC win. Cheika learned from...

Reds vs Crusaders Super Rugby Rd11 2012

I liked much about this post and found myself nodding away like a bobble head doll while reading it. I think it may be premature to promote Lucas on the back of a few outings but there aren't many alternatives.

Reds vs Crusaders Super Rugby Rd11 2012

Truly.. No. Hate when we whinge about refs and we benefitted enormously from Lawrence's appalling work at the breakdown in the RWC, but he really is a poor ref.

Reds vs Crusaders Super Rugby Rd11 2012

I just was spitting at the TV during the game at some of Lawrences decisions. His penalty on Gill was a joke. I just glanced over at the Silverfern and even they think Lawrence was very poor and a benefit to the Crusaders. IF Harris kicks his goals, the Reds win this in a massive upset. They...

Crusaders will not lose this one at home in front of a sold out stadium.

Quade Cooper; where does he go, what does he do?

In the NBA in the US, a situation arose many years ago when the Boston Celtics could not re-sign Larry Bird as he couldn't fit under the salary cap that was part of the collective bargaining agreement. The NBA realized how ridiculous that a player synonymous with that franchise's revival would...

    PlayUp trial feedback

Frankly, I think just having a game specific GGR hashtag on Twitter would work just as well, if not better. There would be no glitches, and posting/reading would be device independent.
