    Where to for Super Rugby?

The games themselves are markedly different, but I think Soccer will quite happily argue what is the best structure to underpin the game.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I would be very weary of that model moving forward. okay test rugby is where the money comes from, but have we not learn't anything from Super Rugby, the game needs a higher profile domestically in this country, so to then sign up-to another deal where the broadcaster goes "yeah whatever you...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

The game needs to define what product it is presenting first before making its case. What is Super Rugby? because they are selling something that actually doesn't exist, is this a TT comp or domestic league followed by champions league, a tad more than minor details.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Is it really a compromise though, if AUS/NZ can manage 6 teams each, then separate domestic competitions followed by champions league surely would be the best option moving forward financially, the issue is the 6th team for each country. TT is not the best option it is the preferred option to...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Of course they had specific teams in mind NSW, Queensland & whoever chooses to pay the bills for a 3rd team.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I watched the game on Sunday, and my missus walked in and said oh are the Wallabies playing, so there is something about rugby's prominence in the media, look any die-hard would have known the game was on, but drop a level and you could easily have not known. The point is what do we do about it...

https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-union/rugby-australia-looks-to-strike-rights-deal-with-nine-20201008-p56386.html I just think a change of broadcaster would help freshen things up, the thought of Fox just rolling out another year with Kearns, Gregan & Co does not excite me one bit.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Because I think NZR view Australian rugby as being strong with 3 well supported teams in a TT competition of there design.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Not unlike some of the debating on here , but I can sort of understand the approach by NZR. The difference for NZ is they have a much better supported domestic market, why rush into a TT competition in such uncertain times, why rush when another year of Aotearoa will keep there audience...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

FFS surely its about time we go our own separate ways and meet for Test rugby, why all this talk of jumping into a TT in 2022 with the NZRU an organisation simply not to be trusted. A domestic competition will be what it is, stop doing deals with people that smile at you as they stick a knife in...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Bit of a catch 22 then really, so if you don't over reach then you end up with a "Force Fiasco" before you even start. The game here is paying for 20yrs of top down elitist, take over the world and get some one else to pay for our rugby thinking.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Sorry Dan, but this is where I fundamentally dis-agree with you, that point of difference has made exactly zilch of a difference over the last 20 odd years. it is not about taking on the AFL/NRL, its about the fact that that's exactly what Aussies want. the game can survive on the occasional...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Economic factors do play a part, but there are many other factors in play, NZ is a small isolated island pretty much at the bottom of the world, Aus will always be an attractive option for Kiwis, same language, just a couple of hours flight home, it is very much viewed over there as the big city...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

But that's the catch 22, who will shift the focus to the clubs. For 20 years Super rugby was going to be the best competition in the world and for the nzru it will only ever be about the All Blacks.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

In defense of NZRU, they would hardly be looking at the RA as having the nous or vision to grow a TT competition either, ultimately only PE could do that, both NZRU and RA simply have to many vested interests for it to have a chance to grow beyond just another Super rugby lite.
