2018 Quarter Final NSFW Waratahs vs Otago Highlanders

Officials an all-Aus affair. Wonder how the Landers feel about that?

    Brumbies 2018

Great summary RC. As you say, had they made the finals the Brumbies 2018 would be the inform Aus side to perhaps go further. Good signs for next year so long as a couple of missing pieces in the squad jigsaw can be found. I think on the personnel side, I would rate Folau Fainga'a as the most...

    Rebels 2019

Gee, I'm sure they know that Canberra is a whole lot closer to Sydney than Melbourne, but might be worthwhile someone reminding them?

    Round 19 - Waratahs v Brumbies

Thank you B, and that really surprises me. However, I stand by my comments re Gardner when in charge of Super Rugby games involving one Aus side only.

    Melbourne Rising 2018

Like the Rebels minus a few Wallabies I'd think.

    Round 19 - Waratahs v Brumbies

Better have another think about obstruction D. In my book, a player in possession simply can't be obstructed by a team mate behind him. And Gardner ruled (imo correctly) that Arnold retained the ball at the front of the non-contested maul so that anyone coming around the back had to be off side...

    Reds 2019

Not saying that any of those three shouldn't have a top up, Strewth, but in the past top ups were only offered to Wallabies with 2 years in the side - remember the cock up about the Wallaby Captain, Ben Mowen, not being offered a top up because he hadn't been in the squad the required 2 years...

    Rebels 2018

Would you consider Hodge at 12 and Tuipolutu at 13? I reckon KevinO would see it that way, and all the games I've seen Tuipolutu play at U20s have been at 13.

    Brumbies 2019

After a bit of research, a little info on Guy Porter. Ex-Scots College. Played NSW U20s in 2016, would make him around 21 or 22 now I suppose. Listed as a winger in his personal details, but has been playing 12 and 13 for Sydney Uni this year. Played NRC last year and linked to Sydney for 2018...

    Brumbies 2019

OK, no rock stars. Maybe we can put together some names he might be interested in. First up, I'd nominate Andrew Deegan from the Force to bolster the play making role. I haven't seen very much Shute Shield this year, but in a couple of games I was impressed with a centre by name of Porter...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

He turned up on his white charger eager to help protect and defend the Establishment which was crumbling under attack by hosts of missing fans and their money, and was rejected. Indeed, why should he?

    The Rugby Championship 2018

Reg, Koriobete again this weekend showed that he has big problems defensively. Sure, he can tackle hard when he's following a kick and takes the catcher as he's standing still, but is often out of position in defense and more likely than not to either miss or fall off a tackle on a player coming...

    Brumbies 2019

What a great attitude leading into the finals series. Just like those suggesting teams already qualified had nothing to play for, I call it a load of crock. Winning form leading into the finals is important for confidence and to retain winning combinations and game plays etc. No team would go...

    The Rugby Championship 2018

Peyper has to be one of the most inconsistent refs going round these days. Not looking good for the Bledisloes, but in saying that I appreciate a few ABs fans here are going to accuse me straight away of looking for excuse and to blame the ref. Not that at all, he is inconsistent across all...

    Round 19 - Waratahs v Brumbies

Ahhh. Bastille Day, what a day. Started out with Crepes for breakfast, followed by mini quiches for lunch and Cassoulet and Cherry Cafloudis for dinner, washed down with a Cote du Rhone, Les Soeurs de Bonpas. All topped off with a brilliant if belated win by the Brumbies. Vive la France.

I would liken him to Israel Dagg. But what ever, you are right about his vision when returning kicks.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I would suggest the answer to that is the present situation we're in with the Super Rugby competition. Not all doom and gloom though. The Aus conference sides have been much more competitive with their NZ counterparts this year, and even jagged a few wins.

Super Rugby - Road to the Finals 2018

None of the Hurricanes, Chiefs or Highlanders have been playing well in the latter parts of the season, so the chances are there for other conference reps to do some damage. Crusaders aside, not much between the rest of the NZ conference and the best of the Aus conference right now. Tahs to...

    Predictions!

Just a quick review of the early predictions. Rebels3 got the Aus conference correct. Emuarse got it almost completely arse up, but maybe that's just the way emu arses are attached anatomically? My own first prediction had the Rebels and Tahs around the wrong way.
