    Reds 2019

What's the point of having pillars, or goals, or whatever is fashionable in management-speak currently, if they are not expected to be delivered? The aim to have the "the largest fan base in world rugby" by 2020 is very specific and in an environment where that fan base is presently reducing...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Have the current administrators really been there for 100 years Wamb? If so, then no confusion about why the game is in trouble at the second/third tier level. If not, then why would you think a new broom would sweep all that tradition away when their primary aim would presumably be at the Super...

HTF the ball can be judged to be not out of the ruck (or scrum) when the No 9 has both hands on it, bewilders me.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The laws surrounding mauls need to be looked at too. Just too many of them, and almost impossible to defend legally.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I much prefer the four try bonus point to the current 3 try margin. I've never been a fan of the losing bonus point though. Some of your other suggestions have merit too. I would like to see the scrum limited in time as well and for the ball to be used as soon as it's available. As a supporter...

John I. Dent Cup 2018 - ACT Premier Rugby

Don't Queanbeyan have the bye this week and pocket the four points? If so, they look to be cemented into the 4th spot or higher depending on Uni-Norths result.

2018 Quarter Final NSFW Waratahs vs Otago Highlanders

If it were to be a penalisable (?) incident, it would surely have been Beale penalised for a tackle on a player without the ball. However, I think the right call was made, play on.

Most recent games he (Pocock) has been listed at 103kg. I always had trouble believing 115kg, but I'd bet he is 5 - 10kg heavier than the likes of Hooper and Miller.

2018 Quarter Final NSFW Waratahs vs Otago Highlanders

The players not attached to a ruck being cleaned out is a blight on the game. It is no different to a tackle on a player not in possession, which as we know can lead to disallowed tries, YCs and at least a penalty. Same sanction needs to be applied to the clean out of players not attached to a...

    Refereeing decisions

Could work QH, but imo the sanction should be a short arm free kick to the opposition.

2018 Quarter Final NSFW Waratahs vs Otago Highlanders

Derpus, Beale was at fault in his collision with Squire. Would have been harsh had he been sanctioned, but Squire did absolutely nothing Wrong imo. I thought Beale's night was over at that stage, but he did credibly well to stay on and even ramp up his defense later in the game.

2018 Quarter Final NSFW Waratahs vs Otago Highlanders

BH, I was pretty sure that Hanigan did actually hit Sopoaga with his shoulder first, but at the time didn't even consider that a yC might have resulted. Just thought it was Hanigan trying to show that he's a hard man. Was happy with the penalty where the ball landed. Many other incidents should...

No evidence in the last couple of games that Rona is a better defender than Hodge, though.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I would have Hodge at 13 now TK is out. He has experience with the Wallabies and has not let the side down in any of his appearances. He is a good tackler, and I'm sure the coaching staff have sufficient time available to ensure he's across the demands of the 13 spot. And his long kicking game...

Precisely, he was. As well as being rated the best scrumaging THP at least in Super Rugby, and maybe across the world, he was always threatening with ball in hand. Clean line breaks and many metres gained were hallmarks of his game. In 2018, he has had few of those barnstorming runs, and his...
