Wallabies vs Ireland - 3rd test - Saturday 23rd June 2018 - Sydney Football Stadium

I did have the same train of thought about WR (World Rugby)'s response to Jackalling and Jumping Derpus. It seems when one player has a skill so much more developed than most others, WR (World Rugby) are only too anxious to adjust their laws or interpretations to level the playing field. On jumping, I think it should be...

Super Rugby Week 17, 2018 - Rebels vs Waratahs - Friday 29 June

R3, I think Will Genia's loss will prove the bigger factor. My thoughts are the Tahs will get up in this match by around 8 - 12.

I agree WOB. I am impressed by the range of very creative excuses Wallaby and Waratah fans have come up with to justify their defense of Folau in these incidents.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Would any Super Rugby franchise be willing to enter into a contract soon for a two year period starting 2020? Wouldn't they be more likely to want to keep their options open to see what happens with their current players and others coming through from club/NRC? Not to mention, the absence of...

Think you're oversimplifying the reaction of Aus fans Dan. A couple of years ago, James Dargaville was also carded for a similar incident in which he was competing for the ball with eyes fixed on the ball, but didn't get as high in the air as the opposition jumper. It was an issue than, and it...

Larkham was a magician. His outside players were all quality, but how much would their games have been enhanced by having the real Bernie inside. Some of those highlights are just unreal, especially where he single handedly made almost the whole length of the field even against the All Blacks...

Upthereds, Not saying they will miss out, but both Kepu and Kuridrani are probably not looking at a lot of game time. Both are showing signs of struggling to keep up with the pace of the game, reminding me of the last couple of years of Sterling Mortlock, champion that he was. I would be...

    Brumbies 2019

After watching the Western Force play this year, and especially the game against the Crusaders, I have been impressed with the form of Andrew Deegan at No 10. Wonder if it would be possible for the Brumbies to entice him here for next year, a move which could help solve both the 10 and 12 spots...

A good Qld man. Is there a coaching vacancy coming up?:(

Nah, he knew precisely what he was doing. He had demonstrated a long kicking skill in previous games this year but hardly any fans apparently took notice. He is still developing his overall game but has now added a kicking skill that shows a lot of promise. He is second to none in the Wallabies...

I like long, territory gaining kicks, and even better if they are followed up by a strong defensive line to contain the opposition in their own half. I hate a kick for touch from our 20m line that wins about 15m if lucky (considering the kicker is usually another 10m behind the gain line) and...

BH I like your commitment to find any chink at all in the argument that Folau is to some larger extent than others responsible in those actions. But the contact on the ground of two players going in the opposite direction, say in a tackle situation, is that both players usually go to ground from...

Hooper's fitness might have a bearing on the backrow at the beginning of the RC. Is his injury a hammy, and how long will he likely be out? Injuries will undoubtedly then contiue to play a role in the backrow makeup. I can see all of Samu , Timu, McMahon and Dempsey being called upon in the...

I understand the citing might be for a combination of the two challenges. Had the first resulted in a YC, then the second would have been a red. My take on the second incident hasn't changed. I think, both taken into account, Izzy will sit on the sidelines for between 2 and 4 weeks.

And Ardie Savea. The Wallabies will be competitive if they can reproduce the defensive effort of test 1 v the Irish. However, we just cannot unlock the opposition defenses often enough to score sufficient points to challenge the ABs. The ABs will put on at least 20 - 30 points in most games...

What would the outcry be like though if the ref played on with the lineout, the Wallabies force a turnover and score a try to win the match, all after time was up on the clock and everyone knew it but the referee? I would venture there would be calls for the TMo to be sacked (perhaps a good...

The forward pass called against us was far more marginal (ie less obvious) than the two Irish passes a few moments later. Luckily, the ball finished over the sideline, so nothing came of the later two passes, but these were a very good illustration of the inconsistency of the refereeing.

Think you're being a bit disingenuous there D, but maybe deliberately so. Suggesting the Super Rugby competition needs to be reworked doesn't necessarily mean introducing a NH style slog fest. I think K's main point is that all games need to be serious contests where the result has more meaning than with...

Wallabies vs Ireland - 3rd test - Saturday 23rd June 2018 - Sydney Football Stadium

Under the current law interpretations, I think Izzy is in for a lengthy spell on the sideline. If the incident being reviewed is the one where O'Mahony went off injured, then Izzy is at fault for grabbing the player in the air around his waist with his left hand. The contact on the player's arm...

The reference to Nabuli was a mistake by me. Nadolo on the other hand left the Tahs unwanted, returned to star for the Crusaders and selected for the Fiji national side.
