    Waratahs 2019

I admire you creative attempt to equalise the competition JJ, but I really do think you have got it wrong in a couple of places. Neither of Roach or Fitzpatrick would displace Folau Fiainga'a and if Conal McInerney also stays then hooker is not a spot where the Brumbies will be lacking in...

Swingpass, form would suggest you are right. I will be surprised if the Jaguares were to lose two games in SA. More likely to win both, I would have thought. Can't see the Sharks overtaking the Rebs, so they (the Rebs) are almost a shoo-in to finish at No 8.

Chiefs v Brumbies in Hamilton 7/07/18

McKenzie at 10 and Ngatai at 12 is the danger area for the Brumbies. They are all class and hugely dangerous attacking players. With Retallick missing, I don't see a lot between the two packs. I expect Pocock to get as much attention off the ball this week as last. That seems to be the only...

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

I would have thought no worse than West. Must have been a toss of the coin to see who missed out this week.

Yep, that's exactly how I recall it too. And I think Fardy and maybe Moggy were both very much in the running for POTY that year.

Gnostic, would you see Hanigan as the back up set piece lock to eventually replace Simmons? Seems to play a very similar style of game, maybe even busier, but I don't know if his scrum work at lock is valued.

And apparently didn't anticipate RA waiving the cap for this year to accommodate the suddenly surplus ex-Force players on the market. Of course, it really looks like only the Rebels had the foresight to see that coming.

Alec Evans - the scrum doctor? Don't know if he ever was offered a HC job, but I can't say that I ever saw him mentioned as such. But he was known pretty well world-wide for his scrum coaching.

Who's leaving BJ? Blake Enever just re-signed so must be Richie I guess?

    Brumbies 2019

A little anecdote about Fardy's EPS year Roffy. At the annual Foundation Members' dinner that year I mentioned to Laurie Fischer that Fardy was playing great football and that he would be in the running for POTY. He reminded me that as an EPS player he could only (then, maybe not now) play while...

But I think only for the first year, ie 2018. In 2019, I believe the full contract amount becomes the Rebels' to find within the cap.

I think JM-R still offers more than Robbie Abel, but I'd really like to see the Brumbies using FF (Folau Fainga'a) and Conal McInerney as the main starters next year. Great news on Swain. He might be behind four excellent Locks at the moment, but he is the future. His star will shine from 2020 onwards.

Colby Fainga'a gone? I'm sure I saw recently that he had extended his contract for at least another year.

On his past couple of games, I'd say Holloway is the in-form lock for the Tahs right now. What are the prospects of Pat Sio? Is he showing enough in the SS to warrant consideration? In answer to Hawko, if both players are fit and in form, I think Samu will start at 6 and Valetini at 8 for...

    NRC 2018

That draw is very favourable to Sydney (surprise! surprise!). Four matches straight up in Sydney with the furthest travel to get to Woolahra. Contrast with the Rising who have Fiji, Townsville, Mudgee and Adelaide in the first four weeks. Vikings also have a relatively easy draw, but if Sydney...

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

From memory, Jags went undefeated in two matches in Aus before then winning in NZ for a three match streak on the road. Can't see why they would be unduly troubled by the Sharks in the second week in SA.

RC seems to sum up the actions taken by Evans in this instance. There was a neck grab and roll; Pocock was dumped head first with force. Evans should count himself very fortunate, but I have no doubt that his recent foul play actions will be repeated and his time to face the music will come.

RC, Samu dropped out of the 23 and the squad altogether? I agree with Cyclopath - Tui will definitely be there, probably as the fifth lock but more likely to play No 6. A couple of locks will need to be schooled in lineout calling, but that is just a matter of training and experience. Bring it...

Dan, It was certainly around the neck, and just saying that you haven't watched it much in no way adds any doubt to the matter. He was neck rolled. BH, I accept your wisdom that a neck roll is only a YC and that might be why the citing commissioner took no action other than to issue a...

Yep, I think Kuridrani had around 100m ground gained against the Canes. He was looking more like his old self, but needs to maintain the rage to stay in front of Rona, who was unusually quiet against the Rebels.
