Time to put the coffee argument to bed for good. Check out the world awards that Ona Coffee in Canberra has received over the past four or five years. Best coffee is here.

    Waratahs 2018

I've seen quite a bit of Ta'avao this year and his form has been far superior to what it was with the Tahs. I think the Tahs would have benefited from him had he been in his present form. I agree that Lousi hasn't been anywhere near a rock star but his early form this year was also a step up...

2018 Super Rugby Semi Final - Lions vs Waratahs - Saturday 28 July @11.05pm AEST

Dan, I do think you are somewhat intolerant of critical posts about referee performances and are inclined to write them off as being from sore losers. But I do have some support for your contention that things happen in scrums that are missed or overlooked by many onlookers. Take the scrum...

    The Wallabies Thread

Tahs and Rebels aside, both the Reds and Brumbies scrums were at least competitive and usually had the upper hand against all of the NZ sides they played this year. Hard to see why the amalgamated packs won't also favour the Wallabies. I agree, Tupou is also certainly a potential point of...

2018 Super Rugby Semi Final - Lions vs Waratahs - Saturday 28 July @11.05pm AEST

I believe I am fairly immune to trolling KOB.:p As for the match, I agree with the comments about Jackson, especially in relation to the maul in which Staniforth was told to not hold the ball carrier. He came through the maul and quite legally attached himself to the ball carrier. No idea wtf...

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

Laumape was almost invisible. Did he even make one run with the ball? Goodhue on the other hand was outstanding in both defense and attack. Big margin between him and Jordie at 13. Agree that Hall is looking very good at No 9. Was surprised when he was replaced rather early.

Actually, Barb, I can't recall a dropped ball from him in any of the last few games of the season. If there were, they were few and far between. To the contrary, he has excellent hands in the short passing game that the Brumbies have adopted more recently, and his flick on to Muirhead (was it?)...

He is a much harder hitter in defense than Rob Simmons, so at least in comparison, he is the more dominant of the two. But that aside, yes he did make dominant tackles against the Irish and I reckon a few might still be feeling the impact.

Tunkelly if you listen to the various commentators' pronunciations.

Bravo R3. The truth of the matter is that Coleman, Rodda, Arnold x 2, Philip and Tui are all dominating players and that is exactly what is needed at test match level. Aus rugby has never been so well served for quality locks and there is no reason not to go full bore at the opposition by...

Exactly how I'd rate them too R3, while acknowledging that Richie Arnold has the potential to move up the ladder in time.

    Reds 2019

Reg, it has been reported that Elyse will be based in Sydney at least for the next two years after they return. If Izzy moves to Brisbane and his wife to Auckland, that might be closer to the To'omua factor as most recently reported.

    Melbourne Rising 2018

Outplayed David Horwitz in SS a couple of years ago when Horwitz was then being touted as the next big thing for the Tahs. Not sure that's a good recommendation now, given that Horwitz hasn't seemed to kick on as expected and is now out of favour it seems with most Tahs supporters. But, I agree...

    Brumbies 2019

Looked very impressive at Northern Suburbs in 2016. Good size for a No 12, 193cm and 105 kg. Had a look at his career stats. Defence looks a bit iffy - 25 tackles made, 15 missed for the Tahs and 28 tackles made and 10 missed for the Rays in the NRC. Will need to tighten up if he wants the 12...

    Brumbies 2019

So, does this news supersede the 9 am announcement on a No 10 tomorrow? EDIT : Or, thinking laterally, will there be a new flyhalf allowing CLL move to 12? Where does that leave Hawera, though?

    Brumbies 2019

I think you are right RC. IIRC Verity-Am has played a bit of 13 for the Force in past seasons. And from my recollection, did a pretty good job of it as well. He has an excellent turn of pace and seems to be able to beat a tackle. Would he be an option for 2019?

2018 Super Rugby Semi Final - Lions vs Waratahs - Saturday 28 July @11.05pm AEST

With or without Peyper's help, if the Canes beat the Cru (unlikely) there will be a hell of a stink about the conference system again pitting the deserving grand finalists against each other in a semi when all and sundry can see that two teams of substandard players are matched against each...

    Brumbies 2019

I'm sure I saw a quote recently from McKellar suggesting that he was close to signing a high quality winger, and we know that he's after a No 12. You'd expect that Naivalu would be high on the list of potential wingers, but failing that and reading that Perese is perhaps looking to leave the...
