Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Cooper's form when he last played for the wallabies was great. (EOYT 2013) His last game against the AB's in NZ was near perfect. His kicking was great too. Much better then Foley's. As mentioned before his combination with To'omua is one of the strongest we've seen in a long time. I would be...

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

But when Cooper is fit and firing KB (Kurtley Beale) will just be a second fiddle 10. IMO. So he's either going to be second best fullback behind Falou, or potentially second best 10. Cooper has proven to be one of the best distributors in the game there is and so I highly doubt KB (Kurtley Beale) will come close to Coopers...

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

This is a very good point IMO. The AB had a pretty good list of weaknesses to attack in the past which I feel has significantly got smaller. The use of the high ball and kick returns being a big one.

Agreed Phipps is pushing White for a start. I would have not issues with Phipps starting he puts in so much work and is generally quite effective, probably a more threatening runner then White too. White has the boot though so its a 50/50 for me.

Agreed. The only kicker in Aus rugby I feel has the technique and consistency is Mike Harris. I wouldn't argue his selection in the squad as a 12.

Waratahs v Brumbies, SFS Saturday 26 July

Disappointed in Mogg and Coleman. They just lacked the pyshicality needed for that game. Otherwise pretty proud of the rest of the boys!

    Quality post.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

I would be outraged at him starting at 10. It was nothing but luck that meant it cost the Tahs nothing. It could have easily changed the whole game. His try was hardly the decisive try? Firstly it was the result of Mogg being a weakling, and secondly the decision to kick in for the corner...

Beale certainly does have good 'attacking stats' and is really the perfect example of an X-factor player that can either win OR lose you a game. I'd take Horne, McCabe over him any day. A prime example, only last game against the Brumbies Beale makes a basic error and gets charged down by...

I agree with your X-Factor comments which is why I'm not concerned. Although I should note I think SPEIGHT (not Spreight) can tackle, take a high ball, can draw and pass, run a decent line AND has X-factor.

I think our winger stocks are actually fine. Currently Tomane, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Horne, McCabe and now Betham. I think they will all do a fine job. Maybe not X-factor players but I wouldn't say weak links either. So it would take a good 3 or 4 injuries in the next couple of weeks before I'm too...

Morahan for sure. Does anyone remember his performance against the Bristish and Irish Lions? 2 or 3 try saving tackles, always threatening with ball in hand, and an amazing solo try. That game showed he can handle the physicality of Test match rugby. I think he's the dark horse that might...

Agreed on Lilo. I am a die hard Brumbies fan but I also like to see players playing in there best positions. Lilo would be better served playing 10 in another team. McCabe I always thought would make a great 13 also but won't get tested in that position with Kurindrani there.

    Brumbies 2015

You prefer Butler at 8 and Fotu at 6? Surely Fotu can't be that bad at the back of the scrum? Can Butler be a line-out option too?

I'm going to have to agree with this. As a Lilo fan, he was a good super player for many years and had a brief stint with exception form before a horrendous ankle injury. I would like to mention, his good form correlates to playing at 12. His exceptional form was created when he was moved to...

Yes I do admit I do tend to exaggerate Beale's deficiencies mainly to get my point across firmly. However my response is this. He wasn't nominated for his defence that's for sure. He was nominated for his counter-attacking abilities, which he was doing quite often at the time. IMO he is a...

By the way, What ever happened to Goodwin, thought he would be in the mix for 12, I'd have him for a future 12 prospect over Beale.

Please no Beale in the starting XV. He has always excelled at super xv but rarely for the wallabies apart from a few great runs from broken play at fullback. Defensive issues, poor passing, basic errors have always crept in his game. The brumbies ran all over him early in the season and they are...

Even if Beale outplays To'omua, To'omua will still hold the 12 jersey for his consistent ability on defence. Beale has been a shining light on attack but defence is still not a strong point - he will be exposed at Test level. Also It will be Lealifano Vs Beale. To'omua plays 10 for the Brumbies.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

He has been solid in defence in super xv. But I also recall him having a poor game in defence for the wallabies where he was caught out of position a few times. However he improved in his following game (against the French I think) and was also superb on attack. I don't think defensive issues...
