Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

We could always start up Pocock V Hooper.. that's a never ending debate!

Found the article: "No surprise to me that Beale is a trump at No.10" Read more: http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/no-surprise-to-me-that-beale-is-a-trump-at-no10-20120516-1yrcl.html#ixzz3AQeazIqL

I also remember McKenzie writing a newspaper article a few years ago talking about X-factor playings like Beale and Cooper. This was when McKenzie was at the Reds with Cooper, and Beale was playing fullback and had a stint at flyhalf for the Rebels, and he mentioned how good Beale would be at...

Hooper to 8. Carter to flanker.

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Well if we are talking hypothetical then Kaino would on the bench at least over Higgers. If not starting over Fardy.

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Thats interesting. I am all about balance, Many of my posts support a balanced team. But then again you get a special player like Kaino who I feel can allow an exception to the rule. I feel Kaino could do anything Fardy would do (plus more). Maybe to a lesser extent but still to a satisfactory...

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

I can understand why. Just a difference in mind-set I guess. My mouth waters at the possibility of playing both together.

Are you saying if Kaino was Aussie you'd still pick Fardy because he compliments Hooper and Palu better? Yes he does compliment Hooper and Palu nicely but at the end of the day you'd still take Kaino over Fardy anyday!

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Agreed. Although Fardy still is one of the better wallaby performers it just seems he has a impossible task ahead of him.

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

That is true. But super rugby is our only measure of a players form at the moment. And you would have to agree that this is the best chance Palu and Hooper have of getting the best of McCaw and Read.

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Only time will tell. I would predict the same but then again I agree Palu was more influential in the super rugby grand final.

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Agreed, If Read, McCaw and Kaino are even slightly off their games and Palu, Hooper, Fardy continue their good form we will have advantage. Some area's we already have an advantage (but as overall players Kaino, Read are clear favourites), like you mentioned Palu's destructions runs and Hoopers...

The only rule change i want to see is the bloody clock stopped for Penalty kicks.

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Gee I'd say the NZ backrow of Kaino, Read, McCaw are the best in the world. They would beat us there for sure. All have been nominated or won the IRB award in the last 3/4 years. Kaino>Fardy Read> Palu Current McCaw = Hooper - and that's if Hooper steps up and McCaw continues playing below...

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Its so hard to compare players who offer very different skill-sets. For example TWAS's post about To'omua being a better all-round player then To'omua, but then Nonu is so destructive on attack and his balance with C.Smith makes it a very good (and proven) centre combination. Also I rate...

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Not at Test level. The difference is Hooper smashes Habana but Pocock smashes Schaulk Burger and that's a big difference IMO. Hooper still needs to be more physical and aggressive at Test level - which he has been this season at super level so hopefully he can transfer that against the AB's...

If true, would be funny if Beale still went to League anyway...

But the previous year before injury he was quite successful.

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

They have both been average at Test level, But I agree McCalman has shown loads more this season at super rugby. Although McKenzie has a knack at getting the best out of his players, and if he can do that with Higgers a player he know well from the Reds then potentially Higgers could be a...

Australia v New Zealand - Sydney 16 Aug

Think McKenzie is looking for impact from the bench. Similar reason to why Skelton is picked over Horwill but to a less degree. McCalman is one of those players you know exactly what you are going to get, no more and no less. Higgers probably would be better at a short stint off the bench if he...
