Not according to this article published June 30 of this year.http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/footy-form/state-of-origin-suffering-a-tv-ratings-slump/news-story/b1e7afa70b9b881d68ec7b78ad7f73c1

And hopefully his experience at the Tahs is what will be able to draw his youngest brother (if he is the most talented of the lot it will be well worth it) to Sydney. The opportunity to play alongside his brother.

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

You have to be careful as not to confuse SOO ratings witg general interest in the NRL. We Australians love an event. Which SOO fits nicely. On another note, SOO ratings have actually been declining over the last couple of series.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

    That's pretty standard practice.

    This is interesting.

Of late we have seen social media companies of the likes of Twitter etc. begin to venture into the world of sports broadcasting. I've also seen suggestion that it could eventually be an option for streaming services like Netflix. It now looks like that may be the case with Amazon looking at...

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

Honestly, I just don't think the Boks are a big of a draw as they used to be. I'd actually have the AB's, BL's prpbably England ahead of them. Add in the poor form and everything else.

NRC Rnd 3: NSW Country v Melbourne Rising

Looks a good crowd in Tamworth.

NRC Rnd 3: NSW Country v Melbourne Rising

Ned Hanigan reminds me of a young Rocky Elsom in how he plays.

NRC Rnd 3: Brisbane City v Canberra Vikings

Nasirani (I've in all likelihood mucked that up) looks worth a shot a little higher up as well.

NRC Rnd 3: Brisbane City v Canberra Vikings

I think Sapoaga very much fots the George Smith mould in terms of ball playing 7s. Not quite as hard on the ball but that can be developed.

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

Those aren't great. A combination of factors certainly didn't help. Poor form, bad press and finals time in our two major rival codes. Seriously crowded market in terms of viewer consumption. Add to that the Boks just aren't that big of a drawcard. When was the last time they sold out a venue?

NRC Round 3 - Western Sydney Rams v Perth Spirit

That's not bad. Hopefully they can build off that for the next two games.

NRC Round 3 - Western Sydney Rams v Perth Spirit

Someone drive Ravouvou back to the airport and send back to Fiji and can anyone please explain to me why Asquith has started the first 3 games while Walton who is infinitely more competent has warmed the bench? Rams looked lazy and at times disinterested. Skelton was rubbish and Swain and...

NRC Round 3 - Western Sydney Rams v Perth Spirit

The bloke's not a 10s arsehole. Seriously. Get Walton on. Cannot be any more average.

NRC Round 3 - Western Sydney Rams v Perth Spirit

Ravouvou looking utterly clueless out there at the moment. Agree on Skelton.

    Rugby Recruitment Websites

Do it. I was offered an opportunity to play in Ireland and a trial in England (for what would be Championship level now) when I was 18 but chose to focus on my education. I regret not taking the opportunities.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

There's a thread going on PR discussing the SMH article regarding the schools review. The suggestion of a hybrid schools/clubs structure has come up. I think it is certainly worth looking at in some detail. Specifically the multi-school club that completes alongside both established clubs and...

    How to fix the wallabies

I suggest you listen to the podcast featuring Peter Playford. Podcast 228 'Rispuct'. A man that has played across the spectrum of Australian Rugby (he played in the ARC) and has since moved into the coaching and administration role at both club and NRC level. You may not like what you hear.

    How to fix the wallabies

Apparently there's are schools Rugby review underway. According to the article it involves longer seasons, restructuring of traditional structures and up to 150 schools. Which is interesting as counting all the schools from GPS, CAS and ISA Div 1 in NSW. GPS, AIC and TAS in Queensland and all...
