    Growing QLD Schoolboy Rugby

But does Soccer have the same prestige and tradition that Rugby enjoys in most of these schools. That's probably one of the biggest hurdles to achieving this.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

I think much of Super Rugby's current issues are largely structural. The format they chose for this season was just rubbish. They should have just stuck to the three conference structure from previous seasons. H/A in each conference and then three teams from the other two conferences. Contrary...

    NRC onwards and upwards

Watch both in person and on TV. I actually think although still small in general crowds are up this season with the exception of the Queensland teams who have been somewhat lacklustre in general this season when it comes to crowds. The competition needs more promotion in general but it has to...

    Growing QLD Schoolboy Rugby

I actually think that would be a good option as an introductory tool. Still has all the basic structures but with a bit more open space. Also there's the numbers thing.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

So we should be happy to eek out a megre existence and accept our place? As important as it is to set realistic objectives it's also necessary to implement them as part of a larger, far more ambitious plan. As for Australians prefering local competitions and local sports. Sorry, that's not...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Not too sure about a split season. If we were to pull out from Super Rugby (very unlikely) we could just go to a double round with the NRC during the same window. This would return a 14 round season at present plus two weeks of finals for 16. Return both the Waratahs and Reds brands to true...

    NRC onwards and upwards

Depth is an issue but the exposure the NRC provides will help that. Even then apart from Qld Country who are more inconsistent than outgunned the Rams who only have couple of Super Rugby contracted players are very competitive.

NRC round 4: Perth Spirit v QLD Country

This is beginning to loo a little lopsided on the scoreboard.

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

Add in Argentina not being a huge draw and it was never going to be pretty.

NRC Round 4: Canberra Vikings v Western Sydney Rams

Pretty much my thoughts. As I've said, I'm sure he's trying but in a competition like the NRC which is essentially a sprint trying isn't always good enough. He would function a lot better in the centres and not having to create for others. You can see in his play his thinking isn't quite quick...

NRC Round 4: Canberra Vikings v Western Sydney Rams

That's the problem. Was the same last season as well. Get themselves into a position to actually press for the win and then shit the bed. It's very frustrating for a Rams supporter's perspective.

NRC Round 4: Canberra Vikings v Western Sydney Rams

So, from the looks of this game were in for another season of stirling hard fought losses. Unbelievable.

NRC Round 4: Canberra Vikings v Western Sydney Rams

Walton finally gets on at the 73rd minute. Honestly, what's the point now. Is Asquith dating Muggleton's daughter or somehow related. He kills any momentum in the play 9 times out 10 he touches it. I'm sure he's trying hard but HE IS NOT A 10.

NRC Round 4: Canberra Vikings v Western Sydney Rams

We need a 10 desperately. Asquith is poor.

NRC Round 4: Canberra Vikings v Western Sydney Rams

Coleman not looking good on the ground. Minute hit the line hard. Could see blood around his left eye on the ground. Could be a fracture.

NRC Rnd 3: Sydney Rays v NSW Country

True. Will be important for them to maintain their intensity as I cannot see the pace slowing at present.

NRC Rnd 3: Sydney Rays v NSW Country

Really entertaining first half. Game is being played at great speed. Will be some tired boys come drinks after the game.

    Rugby post 2019

I'd go with two conferences of 6 teams. Two Irish, Two Welsh, One Scottish and One Italian. Play each other home and away and then each team from the other conference once. Total sixteen games. Same for the AP.

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

You 'gripe' about a certain player as a means of justifying your stance. Mention that Rugby News has him as one of their 10 most talented unsigned talents and when it appears the Vikings have recruited him you quickly rush to move the goal posts from whinging about not giving local talent a look...

    Growing QLD Schoolboy Rugby

Cannot see the likes of the established competitions going for a 9 week competition. Though, I do think it could be used as a means of delivering more access to both Private and Public schools that fall outside of those associations.
