NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

That's a shocking stat. Rising with 22 mossed tackles. Considering they've put on a number of big hits that's not good. Perese off, hopefully nothing serious.

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

Rising need to sort out their ball handling. Of the two they are making the majority of the unforced errors. Most of QC (Quade Cooper)'s handling errors have come from actually trying something or being belted in tackles which have probably been the only dominate aspect of the Risings game so far. There will be...

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

QC (Quade Cooper) leads 16-32 at the half after a loose pass from Stirzaker is collected by Conor Mitchell who gallops untouched to score next to the posts.

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

It's been pretty willing. The game is being played at a cracking pace which doesn't help but still lots of big, shuttering hits out there. It's something that I've noticed that is much improved on the first two seasons. The physicality of the games has been just brutal.

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

I seriously cannot express any more how impressive Perese is. Having a great game so far. So hard to put down for a little guy. QC (Quade Cooper)'s 12 looks good as well.

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

Plenty of heavy hits out there from both sides. So sort one of the main reason for some of the sloppy hands at times.

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

Rising rumble it over for a try. Coversion is good 16-24 to QC (Quade Cooper).

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

Mason must read G&GR as he's improved on last week. I've seen him make a xouple of tackles.

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

    Timani looking average at present.

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

It was a great piece of work. Bamboolzed the first tackler and with great stepped finesse out of danger of the cover.

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

QC (Quade Cooper) cutting Melbourne up early. Currently 8-24 in favour of QC (Quade Cooper). Perese using great pace and footwork to score. Rising looking soft.

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

QC (Quade Cooper) have had the Weetbix this morning.

Sydney Rays .. NRC Team Official Thread

It's cheap. They have to pay for the broadcast of the NRC. They are provided the feed at minimal cost out of NZ.

NRC Rnd 2: Melbourne Rising vs Queensland Country

Would have been nice to see the first try.

    How to fix the wallabies

While inevitably due to their locations clubs like Wests, Parramatta and Penrith are likely to have significant PI presence I'd say both Manly and Souths have always had reasonable representation as well.

    NRC onwards and upwards

In the genral forum there's the thread 'How to fix the Wallabies'. The answer is partly my above statement regarding the NRC's flow on effects above and below it. Tougher, higher quality Club Rugby game leads to a higher standard of NRC play and thus better prepared and developed players for Super Rugby...

    NRC onwards and upwards

And that's the most important aspect. The continual improvement of the overall standards of play year on year on. We need the NRC to develop until it is of the same overall standard as the Mitre 10 Cup and hopefully beyond. That will have a tremendous effect on the game both in Super Rugby above but...

NRC Rnd 2: Brisbane City v Western Sydney Rams

Paraka was good. I can never get over how nuggettly his build is. MOTM is a fair call from a winning team standpoint.

    Shute Shield 2017

I'd like it to be Simon Cron who lead Norths to their first SS title in 40 odd years and is currently guiding the Rays who are two from two in the NRC. He just seems headed for higher honours. That said, if he misses out I wouldn't mind seeing the Tahs pick him up as an assistant.
