NRC Rnd 5: NSW Country Eagles v Perth Spirit

    NRC onwards and upwards

Mate, get yourself a Chromecast. Then you can watch the streamed games on your TV. Just $59 from JB or Officeworks. Download the Cromecast app via the Chrome.Store and bang you're set. Good to see the sudden jump in publicity for the NRC. Hopefully it translates in more eyeballs both at the...

    Western Force 2017

Could be good for him. Hopefully he watches and learns from Jono Lance who has turned out to be a pretty good 10 himself.

    Western Force 2017

Well done on the Force picking up a real good'un from what we've seen so far this season.

NRC Round 5: Rams v QLD Country

I'm currently smothering with a head cold but I'll hopefully be on the mend by Saturday. If so, I'll make the trek in from the outer suburbs.

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

I've often thought that part of their role as professional players should be to undergo the necessary qualifications to become DO's. Split them into pairs and then designate each pair 10 school that they are to visit throughout the year.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Watched that on World Rugby's YouTube channel. Great piece and a great initiative. Bully (meant in the informal - good, well done) to your young bloke for getting involved.

    Growing QLD Schoolboy Rugby

I hope it would be an indicator of these schools willingness to look beyond their borders. Though, I tend to think comparing Rugby which draws in thousands to games to any other sport isn't a like for like comparison.

    Growing QLD Schoolboy Rugby

Tens is probably a better pathway into the 15 a side format. It offers a greater degree of perceived openness which I think actually appeals to League players. I've had similar experiences with League players coming across. We would have them play in preseason 10s tournaments as an introductory...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

The only way I could think that it would be setting up a U20/21s Super Rugby tournament as a means of identifying and comparing talent.

Western Sydney Rams . NRC Official Team Thread

Looks set to be a pretty big day. Hopefully they can get a fairly sizeable crowd to suit.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

It might be more palatable if it was part of a larger move toward centralisation. I think much of the hesitation if any comes from the perception of the program rather than it's location. Having spent some time living in WA I can attest to Perth being quite a reasonable place to live.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Leaving Super Rugby should be the absolute last resort. Even without the same resources as the French or English it is still easily the best Rugby competition in the world. It's biggest issue is structural. By that I'm not suggesting reverting back to the round robin format. What I like about a...

    Rumours...

If I'm goven the go ahead I'll write something up and post it both here and on The Roar. I'm thinking of giving it the title 'Battleground: USA'.

Depends on if and when the person who passed this information on to me says it's okay.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

It really depends on whether a Super Rugby/Pro12 merged competition or something of the like is possible. But if they moved to a division structure they could have a number of titles. Conference, division and overall championship.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

True. I tend to think part of Super Rugby's strengths is also its weakness when it comes to our domestic market. A Super Rugby/Pro12 competition could be huge but part of me would prefer if we just took the Irish and Scottish franchises as they tend to draw the biggest crowds and audiences. Similar to...

    Rumours...

The main reports seem to be coming out of Ireland. Will be interesting to see if it has any legs. Would automatically jump to a 30 competition. In the reports I've seen they mention the Jaguares playing in Europe as well but I'd prefer them to stay with us. I think if this happens then both...
