    Ideas for NRC

I know the Aus BaaBaas concept is trying to set up a tradition of playing a Heartland XV but I think it would be more useful as a development tool for emerging nations. It would also present a hell of an playing experience for those involved.

    Ideas for NRC

I tend to haunt quite a few Rugby message boards and you never know who may pop up under an anonymous tag. You just need to know what to look for and be able to sort the bullshit from the legitimate information. A poster on one of those boards posted something about this. He has been fairly...

    Ideas for NRC

Well, part of the talks that are in progress involves World Rugby covering all the costs involved in the Fijian squads competing. This includes flying teams to and from Fiji for their home games. It's part of their Pacific Funding Plan. I don't see why if it proves successful why it couldn't be...

    How to fix the wallabies

Hmm... I'll start by stating that I did not attend any of these schools but I tend to disagree with the article. What is needed at that level is an expansion of schools competitions not the wholesale dismantling of existing structures which would likely see a severe backlash anyway. The ARU...

    Wallabies v Springboks - Suncorp, Brisbane, 10th September 2016

Not from what we've seen in terms of NRC form.

    Ideas for NRC

I always liked the the All Black trial concept they used to run. That's how I would have seen it developing. I agree, it would be good if we could see a return of the A program. Would be great to have both the Wallabies and the A squad tour Europe in November.

    Ideas for NRC

In light of the various Wallabies performances this weekend in the NRC, I'd like to see a NRC XV vs Wallabies game. The NRC team would picked regardless of whether they have a contract or not.

    NRC onwards and upwards

If I were Cheika there would be several young guys I'd be inclined to call into the squad after this weekend's NRC not only as a means of rewarding their efforts but effectively to put a rocket up the current squad. Give these guys the opportunity to push the incumbents out of their comfort...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

For that much money I expect to see him scoring tries for us in November.

NRC Rnd 2: Canberra Vikings v NSW Country Eagles

Thoughts on the game. First Country as for the first 60 minutes they were the only team out there. Part of the platform that has allowed the Vikings to dominate their opposition in previous seasons has been their set piece. Particularly their scrum and lineout maul. Both were completely...

    Ideas for NRC

We'll be seeing the return of the bye next year if Fiji enter. But as I said, if they prove successful why not look to involve the likes of Samoa. Then my rivalry round at either end of the season would be back on the table.

NRC Rnd 2: Canberra Vikings v NSW Country Eagles

Let's go with the increasing quality of the competition and the rise of new young blood. It may be a little delusional but it's better than the alternative.

    Ideas for NRC

I like the idea of beginning and ending the season with rivalry rounds. City/Country, Rays?Rams, Viking/NSW Country, Rising/Spirit but with 9 it makes it a little uneven. At least we'll have 8 games again. If the Fijian squads works out well, I'd be in favour of looking to involving a Samoan...

    Ideas for NRC

Why not? Completely different talent pool in terms of where they source their players. The Fijian team should be pretty interesting. Do they go with one of their provincial sides or do they enter the Warriors? The former could be interesting but the latter could be frightening.

NRC Rnd 2: Canberra Vikings v NSW Country Eagles

Short answer. No. Didn't do enough to justify inclusion. Actually, I cannot think of a single Wallaby or fringe Wallaby that dominated over the weekend. I like to think that has more to do with the growing quality of the competition than the players themselves.

Two from three again this week and the loss was a very close run thing. Whoever came to the decision to cut back on the NSW teams deserves an applause.

NRC Rnd 2: Canberra Vikings v NSW Country Eagles

The score is flattering the Vikings. Only really got into the game when the Eagles were down two players and had emptied their bench.

NRC Rnd 2: Canberra Vikings v NSW Country Eagles

Vikings finally find their scrum dominance. Let's overlook the fact that they are now facing only 7 men and the Eagles second tier pack.

NRC Rnd 2: Canberra Vikings v NSW Country Eagles

All the Vikings needed was to be playing only 14 players. Not 15. But 14.
