TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

Like the thought of Barrett having nightmares instead of giving them.

Wright is first and foremost a No 7, and a very good one. The sole reason he would play at 6 if it ever happens is to compensate for Michael Hooper's lack of presence at the breakdown (although he was better against the Pumas). We've surely had enough of playing two 7s together?

There's something wrong about that backline Reg. Just doesn't look right.;):(

Report on ABC radio news, Beale put pen to paper for 12 months. He wanted 45 years but the Tahs would only offer one.

Cyclo, I am sure you are right, but it does get tiresome. Some posters are not inclined to praise the efforts of any players not from the Tahs. And just to show my continuing impartiality, I thought Hooper had his best game in a couple of years playing a lot tighter and not like an additional...

This gets rolled out after every game the Tahs players are below standard or others have a good game. Surely, Phipps must come back in now that we have a scrum going forwards.:(

Hodge is not making a case for selection in the 23 except for his big boot. Banks offers a lot more as well as a big and more accurate boot. One way or another, Banks needs to be either at 15 or on a wing.

And that is precisely what I would want to see from my test No 7 BH, but it goes without saying that Hooper must be playing the style of game Cheika wants. My criticism is not of Hooper per se, but of Cheika and his at times unfathomable game strategies.

Then just maybe he should be sitting on the bench.

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

The real issue to me UTG is that we are continually trying to find an on-baller in just about any position other than the one that conventional wisdom would say is a necessary part of the skillset, ie No 7. The best on-baller by far in this squad is Liam Wright. His inclusion at No 7 would allow...

Surprised Slipper has made it back this week after his head knock last week.Hope he is really good to go. What's the news on Allan Ala'alatoa's injury? After being the iron man of Super Rugby all year, apparently one or two training sessions with Cheika is enough to put him out for a period. I...

Would work for me as an immediate fix, and if they raise the win/loss ratio to an acceptable level, then keep it going for another couple of years with options through to the 2023 RWC.

UTG, are you sure you're not condemning Banks through faint praise, while at the same time having to delve back to 2018 to put in a supporting argument for Beale's ability in cover defense? On form this year, there is no comparison.

Even in those circumstances BH, I believe he could have, and should have, had more opportunity than the quite limited time I remember him having.

KOB, in a match up for over the ball No 6s, I'd go with Valetini in preference to Dempsey. Valetini also jumps in the Brumbies lineout, so there wouldn't be any diminution there and otherwise he makes more forward progress with ball in hand and hits harder in defense. But I am not sure that...

TRC Round 2: Australia vs Argentina @ Brisbane - Saturday 27 July 2019

IIRC it was two games for short periods off the bench. I'm pretty sure it was hardly a suitable time for a convincing argument either way. I do remember that he dropped the ball on his first two touches and was roundly crucified here for that but I was also sure that he did improve later in the...

I would dispute the results won't improve. Many a team going bad will have almost an immediate improvement when the top man who has proven to be unsuccessful is replaced. Could be for a couple of reasons. The top man might have lost the troups and getting him out of the system will straight away...
