Wallabies vs All Blacks 10th August @Optus Stadium Perth

Sully, Hooper was the ball carrier. Surely it was a tackle, not a clean out. Not that the difference should lead to a different sanction. WR (World Rugby) has all year long emphasised that the head and neck are out of play. It would have been a farce had a red card not been issued for that hit.

    Western Force 2020

They have been playing to at least one of the law variations surrounding kicks in general play too, Reg. That could be an advantage. Not so much in making the kicks but in adapting a game plan that takes advantage of the opportunities presented by modifications in defensive patterns.I fully...

Wallabies vs All Blacks 10th August @Optus Stadium Perth

Well, I'm over getting all bitter and twisted by Cheika's (and his co-selectors) selections. I will say that it now looks like the second row and loosies are established. Still experimenting in the front row.

Viral meningitis is different to bacterial meningitis WOB, which I believe is the more dangerous form.

    Canberra Vikings 2019

Think he qualifies for the Wallabies through a grand parent. If so, won't have any affect if and when he rises to that level.

Jahrome Brown named in the Waikato Mitre 10 side. Back row still looks strong.

    Brumbies 2020

If Nic were to come back, he won't be here before 2021 I believe. Ryan won't be bumped down the pecking order next year, and I suspect Matt Lucas won't be here in 2021. I can see that Nic could well head for the Tahs, being a Hunter Valley lad and with connections at Eastwood.

    Canberra Vikings 2019

Some ideas on what the Vikings squad might look like this year (2019) : Props : Fifita, Ross, Wagner, Hookers : McInerney, Lonergan, Locks : Douglas, Enever, Swain, Frost, Backrow : McCaffrey, Samu, Valetini, Brown, Miller (?), No9 : Lonergan, Lucas, No 10 : Kuenzle, Lolesio...

    Brumbies 2020

All three scenarios are more than possible. My take is that Nic will re-sign with the Brumbies (no mail though), and will probably retire or head o/s again after his contract expires. Joe will stay on while Nic is here on the understanding he will again take on the Brumbies' starting spot and be...

    Brumbies 2020

Long term changing of the guard. 2020 : Powell, Lucas, Lonergan; 2021/22 : White, Powell, Lonergan; 2023 : Powell, Lonergan, Albert; 2024 : Lonergan, Albert, Another, after Joe moves o/s after a successful 2023 RWC.

That's what I've also always thought Slim, but rarely see it officiated in games.

Anyway, since when is off the knee a knock on? Certainly not the way I understand a knock on which needs arms or hands or chest to be involved.

That is still a difficult question even at this late stage. Assuming 3 forwards and 2 backs : - one hooker to be released. At this time would have to say Uelese will miss out because he cannot prove to be injury-free; - Coleman must be on shaky ground on his form during the year. If he makes...

Now add Sione Tuipolotu and Fa'alelei Sione to the list of Aussies over there. Really interested to see how F Sione shapes up. Together with Tyrel Lomax, they made a very handy front row combination for U20 Wallabies and at the Brumbies. Have long wondered why he wasn't persisted with here...

Jackson Garden-Bachop - that's a bit of a stretch. One season with the Rebels was it? Looks like Andrew Kellaway is with Counties- Manukau, as is Chris Kuridrani. Tim Metcher with Otago?

I read somewhere that it will be handed over to West Tigers as a training facility. Not sure if they're planning to play out of there.

Wallabies vs All Blacks 10th August @Optus Stadium Perth

I think, in comparison to the Wallabies, the only spot they may be on the weak side is the front row. Enough quality overall to see off any challenge from the men in gold.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

The conundrum for the Reds is what to do about Wright and McReight. Liam definitely looks to be a Wallaby in waiting, but McReight is showing all the signs of being Pocock incarnate. Won't be long before he is the premier No 7 in the country. Wright might go well at 6. As you say he is...

Wallabies vs All Blacks 10th August @Optus Stadium Perth

This is madness. The reason the Pooper was used was supposedly because we had a deficit in the 6 and 8 spots. We now have one or two real No 8s, Naisarani and Samu, and a couple of worthy No 6s, Dempsey and Valetini. The whole rationale for the Pooper really has diminished, if not...
